The Nukufetau Community on Funafuti this morning had the pleasure of welcoming the new MV Manusina with the TAMILOGA.

TAMILOGA is a ceremonial welcome in Nukufetau, reserved only for distinguished visitors. In this enchanting tradition, canoes gently move in concentric circles around the honored guest, whether an individual or a team while chanting the island’s traditional fatele. It forms a circle of respect, protection and unity around our visitors. Today, we kept that spirit alive by using modern boats to re-create this sacred gathering to welcome the arrival of the Manusina.
Privileged to be part of this and to photograph this homecoming. Goosebumps stuffs 🥳

As promised, we brought and delivered our A-game to the stands, fervently cheering on our boys as they competed against the host nation. We won with a convincing 2-0 set victory.

We play Australia in the final tomorrow at 9.15am Solomon Island time.

Our tennis boys went all out today in the gold medal face-off with Fiji. No victory, but, they played their heart out. Big ups to Maka and Ina for earning Tuvalu's first-ever tennis medal. What a game it was!! Mad respect and Fakafetai lasi for bringing home silver.

In other news, our beach volleyball boys faced off against a tough Fiji team in the quarterfinals and they owned it, 2-1! Next up, they're squaring off with the home team, Solomon Islands, in the semis. Fakafetai lasi Saaga and Ampex for repping and grinding for our nation. We're rooting for you in the semis tomorrow and we'll be there, loud and proud, bringing our A-game to the stands, ready to rival the Solo crowd. It's all love and all heart for our boys. Keep riding that wave.
