What an absolutely killer night with and ! So glad Brian was able to stop by Houston on his Breathe In Bleed Out tour and spend some time with a few of us silly horror kids on his short stay here! I hope all of you get a chance to read this absolute BANGER of a slasher and if you have a chance to see Brian on tour RUN, don’t walk to go!!

I never take enough photo at but it’s because every year I’m having so much fun and getting to see so many people and chat with so many amazing and lovely guests and customers it’s insane. This year was amazing and I couldn’t have been happier. Y’all really showed up and showed out. 💚 Thanks for all the love and another spooktastic year down!

What’s a book or author you think is CRIMINALLY underrated??

For me it’s . Her books are always so immersive, fun and poignant to the young adult experience.

Treehouse Trash Can Bug Bite and Girls from the Wild are both GREAT summer time reads that if you haven’t picked up yet you are SORELY missing out on some great summer time fun.

Wowza. This is ’s best work yet and it demands your full attention.

Harrison continues to unabashedly comment on the female experience while teaching and validating her readers in so many ways.

Clio is her most unapologetic character yet teach the reader that unapologetic doesn’t equal unlikable or unworthy of others love and respect.

This book was a perfect blend of Paul Tremblay’s Head Full of Ghosts and Grady Hendrix’s How to Sell a Haunted House but delivered in only the way Rachel Harrison can. another “pink” horror tale for the books.

I took so few photos this weekend (because I’m always having so much fun I forget to document some of the great memories) but the ones I did take definitely sum up how great of a weekend was.

It was great getting to see my con family and add to my list of authors I’ve had the pleasure to work with at a con. He didn’t even mind when we kidnapped him to go to dinner 😂

Comicpalooza is always a blur and feels over faster than it started but this year was definitely a good one for the books 💖

Happy Sunday every one! ✨

A few updates for you all:

✨I started a Big Girl job this past week at a local public library (and yes it’s been as amazing as it sounds)
✨I’m still doing Kayleigh Creates and reviews (just a bit more streamlined these days)
✨having coworkers has significantly boosted my mental health (shocker right? 😅)
✨and lastly the best part of working at a library? Access to amazing books like ’ The Lamb. (Which I’m starting today 💖)

A bite sized review for a bite sized book that packed a punch!

Wow. Just wow. This collection from blew me away. Sam is an incredible voice in horror and knows how to draw you in with the close to home and then swallow your reader soul whole by the end of each of these tales. Truly a modern day Lovecraft. By the time you start to see the light, just know, you may already be too late. Sam asks in this collection if it’s the stories we hold on to or the history around us that makes places like Renfield county haunted then he brings you along for a gory unhinged ride.

Can’t wait for you all to read this one! Out 2/11.
