Today is the great Jerry Clower's birthday, born September 28th, 1926 in Liberty Mississippi. Jerry Clower's storytelling style of comedy talking about personal life experiences and that of his friend Marcel Ledbetter and their family would go on to inspire many comedians especially those coming from a southern background. Jerry also played for the Mississippi State Bulldogs football squad and would spin yarns about playing teams like Alabama and Tennessee.

If you've never heard any of Jerry's standup before we encourage y'all to check him out.
