IDG started its very first activity in Vietnam since 1992, by bringing the famous publication PC World with Vietnamese version to Vietnamese readers. IDG marked its presence once more in expo activity in 1996 with the launch of Vietnam Consumer Digital World Expo which is now one of the biggest IT show annually held in Vietnam. In 1998, IDG Asia Representative Office was officially open in Hochiminh city, took the first steps in researching and promoting trade activities in Vietnam market. IDG, the wholly-owned foreign company was officially established in 2003 and its active areas are: Events, Publications and Research. Then IDG promoted the cooperations with Central departments to produce conferences, events and exhibitions about launching technology applications, contributes to the modernization of State management and business operation
