Huge day in the 1st time blooming bed. Check out these two HUGE maiden blooms, both on scapes showing to be 100% polymerous. I believe that both flowers are breakthroughs in polymerous breeding as our program continues advancing in size, substance, color, and form!

Coming later this season is this dark and velvety high-percentage polymerous flower. I still need to select a name for it so that I can get it registered with the American Hemerocallis Society. I anticipate at least four more new 2016 poly introductions this year to accompany RACE WALKER and RIO OLYMPIAD.

Only 2 single divisions of this huge new high-percentage polymerous daylily named RACE WALKER (Baxter 2016) are still available for 2016, and the plants are ready for immediate shipping to your garden!!

I registered RACE WALKER with the American Hemerocallis Society at 9.5" but it is not uncommon for it to bloom at 11" in my garden. The parentage is impeccable as it comes out of H. 'In Celebration of Life' X H. 'Runner Dude' guaranteeing its incredible size and brilliant coloring, and high polymerous nature.

It is a moderate increaser, so it is a wise investment at this time.
Also, a moderate pod setter with extremely viable pollen for the hybridizer. I continue to go for increasing the size of my flowers and RACE WALKER is the most important daylily in my arsenal for HUGENESS!!! Hence, the limited availability.

Here is the general description submitted to AHS: "Simply huge creamy pink petal base with flaring hot pink/red eye above a splashy chartreuse throat with strong mid-ribs displaying consistent polymerous nature and a bud builder." Also, registered at semi-evergreen with fragrance.

The one trait not mentioned anywhere is its ability to also throw petaloids which make it a valuable tool in your poly double breeding program. You should also expect some 5 X 5 blooms!!
Take your polymerous breeding program to the next level with RACE WALKER. Remember... size does matter and my flower is simply the biggest true high percentage daylily that has ever been made available!!

$125 plus $8 shipping. PayPal to [email protected]

I am pleased to announce a very limited and extra special polymerous daylily introduction for 2016, that is called "RACE WALKER"

Only 10 plants are available of this incredibly HUGE poly that has more garden presence than any polymerous flower that I have ever registered. The first 5 plants of RACE WALKER are available for $100 each, the additional 5 plants are $150 each. I am retaining the remaining stock for my hybridizing program.

REACHING NEW HEIGHTS. Do you want to grow a daylily that some hybridizer says has the ability to grow tall, or do you want to grow a daylily that is truly one of the tallest in existence?

Hemerocallis ‘Reaching New Heights’ is a tetraploid 2012 introduction.

H. 'Reaching New Heights'... (Baxter, 2011), Sdlg. #2tall, Tetraploid, 7 ½" bloom, 68" tall, dormant. Here we have a true giant in the daylily world. A flower that begs you to stand next to and have your picture taken with it. And you do not have to squat, or stand in a hole, or use a funny camera angle to show the height of this daylily. Modesty dictates that I register this beauty at 68" but in 2014 I measured scapes at 80". What's a full foot when we are talking about "reaching new heights?" I would rather tell you that it has wonderful fragrance, 7 ½" blooms, and fabulous mounds of foliage.... and it easily sets pods!

Parentage is H. 'Sears Tower' × H. 'Notify Ground Crew'

Hemerocallis ‘Secret Agent Babe’ is a high percentage polymerous 2006 introduction.

H. 'Secret Agent Babe'... (Baxter, 2006), Seedling #B05-350, Diploid, 7½", 28". Pinched crispate unusual form with top-notch pedigree (H. 'Carolina Octopus' × H. 'Carolina Flying Poly Possum'). I registered the flower as 75% polymerous, however, during the 2011 to 2015 bloom seasons it was 100% polymerous.
When I relocated the garden in the spring of 2007, I thought I had lost H. 'Secret Agent Babe'. I was so disappointed until I rediscovered it during the 2011 bloom season in a bed of plants that had lost their tags. Now, in the fall of 2012 and six years after official introduction, I feel that it is being introduced again for the first time.

The narrowness of petal is from the pod parent H. 'Carolina Octopus'. The pronounced mid-rib creating the crispation and slightly red eye is from the pollen parent H. 'Carolina Flying Poly Possum'. The red eye can be very faint at times but is never heavily pronounced. The base color is a very clean yellow and actually comes from both parents despite the fact that the "Octopus" is red. The yellow flower H. 'Almost Paradise' is the pollen parent of the "Octopus".

H. 'Secret Agent Babe' is mid-season bloomer, repeats, and is dormant. Definitely a plant to have in your arsenal if you are breeding for polymerous daylilies.

Hemerocallis ‘Good Girls Do’ is a 90% polymerous 2013 introduction.

H. ‘Good Girls Do’ is a vivid and brilliant red drawing its vibrancy from its pollen parent H. ‘Moosa Pa Loosa.’ The form of this high percentage polymerous beauty is attributed to its pod parent H. ‘Redefining Genetics’ and paternal grandparent on both sides H. ‘Carolina Octopus.’ The slight chevron/eye is passed along from its fraternal grandparents on both sides which are H. ‘Chief Four Fingers’ and H. ‘Moana Gloria May.’

Genetically, H. ‘Good Girls Do’ is the pinnacle of a polymerous hybridizer’s fantasy turned reality. Not only does this cultivar have multi-generations of Baxter poly breeding, it also incorporates the outside influence of both the late Ned Roberts of spider and unusual form fame and Laurie Higgins from Australia.

Definitely a marvel for hybridizers as this cultivar is pollen and pod fertile, however, its value as a garden plant cannot be underestimated. H. ‘Good Girls Do’ is hardy as a semi-evergreen and it is a vigorous grower. Its 7 ½ inch fragrant blooms sprout on nicely branched 30” scapes just as the peak season starts… continuing into the summer on rebloom scapes. Typical of its lineage, the foliage is thin yielding blooms larger than you would expect.
