🚚🔥 NEW VIDEO DAY: FIRECRACKER MEATLOAF 🔥🚚

We had one of those truck days at Rockwell Brewing…

Forgot my chef’s knife.
Forgot my meatloaf pan.
Didn’t bring enough coal.
Still had to run normal service. 😅

Somehow, out of all that chaos, we ended up with a spicy Firecracker Meatloaf Sandwich stacked with jalapeños, habaneros, house BBQ sauce, pickles, and our bacon onion jam from last week’s prep video… and it might be one of my favorite things we’ve ever put on a bun.

We finally put one of our “secret” ingredients on camera. 👀🔥

Today on YouTube we’re taking you into the Old Line kitchen for a full POV batch of our bacon & onion jam – the stuff that lives on top of our Smoke Burger at the Old Line BBQ truck and over at Dragon’s Den Tavern.

It’s a real prep day: a mountain of onions, a LOT of stirring, brown sugar, cider vinegar, bacon, and our Mid-Atlantic rub all cooked down into that sticky, smoky jam you’ve seen on your bun.

At the end of the video we head out to the truck, grab a Smoke Burger made with this exact batch, slice it open on the board with some house pickles, and give it a proper taste test.

We had the bright idea of catering a wedding on the same day as Dragon’s Halloween Bash.

We barely rolled into the Frederick Fairgrounds before the fog machines kicked, lasers lit up the room, and a sea of costumes took over. The DJ was pounding, the line spun up fast, and it turned into one of those nights where Frederick just goes off. We filmed from inside the chaos—sprinting the window, stealing a few dance-floor beats, and closing it down at midnight with that happy kind of tired.

We took the restaurant/food truck crew to Saval’s Cut Loose Food + Music Fest at Maryland Live to see what’s new for operators. We hit the sample gauntlet, asked pricing/prep questions, and came home with a short list of items to test for flavor / cost / speed. Call it 70% R&R, 30% research—and absolutely worth the trip.

And the second half?
Saval threw a full-on ’90s nostalgia concert with Sugar Ray—“Every Morning,” “Fly,” “Someday,” the works. Packed house, big sing-alongs, great energy for everyone who shows up and supports this community year after year.

We grew up on summer days at Six Flags America — coasters, games, sticky fingers from funnel cake and cotton candy.

Now the park is closing permanently in just a couple weeks, so we ran our “On a Bill” $100 Challenge series for one final ride!

🍂 We Learned a Lesson at Oktoberfest 🍂

We rolled into Mount Airy’s Oktoberfest with a big idea: run the Old Line BBQ truck and film a polished “On a Bill” challenge at the same time. On paper? Brilliant. In practice? …not so much.

Between the crowds, technical hiccups, and the madness of the day, the $100 challenge completely unraveled. We only managed about $23 worth before it all fell apart.

But instead of scrapping the footage, we turned it into something different: a story about learning the hard way what it really takes to vlog while working.

The Old Line MD BBQ Crew is officially teaming up with Rockwell Brewing for a Fall/Winter 2025/26 residency — bringing our BBQ Truck to the best beer spot in town all season long.

The residency kicks off tomorrow night at Rockwell Brewing for Trivia Night, followed by:

* October: Most Wednesdays–Sundays (with a few off dates for prior commitments)
* November & Beyond: Every single Wednesday–Sunday through the winter season

This is the start of something big: Two Frederick favorites. One stage. All season long.
