CASSADAGA - Official Movie Trailer

OMG!! I just saw the trailer to the last film we did with the folks from the recently completed film "The Missionary". That film was called "Cassadaga" and the trailer looks awesome! I can't believe that this is the film we worked on with them; it looks so polished and professional I would have thought they had spent many times more than they did. I mean, the little bits and pieces I saw on monitors looked great and I knew these guys were good but WOW! Check it out for yourself on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLZu8hLEz64

Devastated by the death of her younger sister, Lily Morel seeks solace at the spiritualist community of Cassadaga. But instead of finding closure, she contac...

Wow, we just finished 18 days of catering for the feature film "The Missionary". Shot on locations throughout Central Florida, it is an exciting psychological thriller that I think will be a big hit with viewers. The story line and script were great, the casting was spot on and the little bits and pieces I saw look great. This time we fed the cast and crew of around 100 people twice a day as well as providing what they refer to as "craft service" where we provide snacks, beverages, toiletries and other items (like a ton of mosquito repellant) that the cast and crew need on set.

Production work like this comes with it's whole own set of challenges because a lot is riding on the smooth ex*****on of the production. If you are late with a meal for instance, it could end up costing your client thousands of dollars in overtime or lost opportunities to get shots done. Productions are also, by their very nature, extremely fluid and you have to be able and willing to adapt to last minute changes. The upside is that the folks who work on productions like this are real pros and treat us like an important part of the team.

Also, yours truly (Chef Jim) is a total film ju**ie and I really enjoy being a part of the "magic making" that is film work. Watching the totally creative ways that they achieve the realistic feel of the shots is really eye opening and gives you a new appreciation of film and TV. The consummate professionals of this trade make what would seem like to you or me an impossibility look easy. I could sleep for a week now that it is done, but I feel like we all accomplished something really cool as a team. Thanks to the "Missionary" cast and crew!

Today is the last day of catering for our latest production job; providing food to the cast and crew of BBC America's "Crash Course" starring Richard Hammond (of "Top Gear" fame). What a fun time it has been! Richard has the best job ever, in the episode they are filming here in Orlando he is crushing mini vans and demoing a house with a front end loader! I can't wait to see it on TV. The crew has been awesome and really complimentary of the food; nice folks.
