And that’s a wrap on celebrating Kennedy and Asher! Tonight’s wedding consisted of our bistro lighting and custom black and white drapery! What a great night!
We’re all set and ready to celebrate with Preston and Kieara tonight in Augusta!
Not only did we celebrate in Dodge City, we enjoyed celebrating with Joe and Allison in Colwich tonight!
I've always heard that imitation is the best form of flattery. I recently learned that an area DJ changed the name of his company to be very (and I mean VERY) similar to ours. Is this an attempt to capitalize on the reputation that we worked so hard to build, one that we've worked for over 24 years to build? Of that I can't be certain, but I can't help but wonder!
A very big part of our reputation was built on our customer service from the time that a couple chose to book with us, up until the date of their event. I've begun getting several calls lately from not only people looking for the other company in question, but also venues trying to get information on what he's needing for the event, the week of the event, so there doesn't seem to be any communication with the venues that they are working at either.
In the end, I hope that there haven't been any unsuspecting people getting duped by thinking they've reached out to us, and have mistakenly contacted the wrong company.
As we prepare to celebrate with Jerry and Christine tonight, we’re throwing it back to last week when Braydon, Carson and their guests brought down the house. It was a great night celebrating with them! We just wish Facebook would allow business pages to post more than one video or a combination of photos/videos but there is one way to find out how you can have a great reception: send us a DM and we would love to meet with you to discuss how we can make your reception one to remember!
What a way to wrap up our last wedding for 2022! We enjoyed celebrating with Scott and Macy in Great Bend tonight!
Tonight we celebrated with Baron and Kait! We have a few more events for 2022 before we close the books but we are accepting dates for 2023! Getting married or have a family member getting married next year? Send us a DM!
Celebrating with Sam and Kelsey tonight!
Celebrating with Bryn and Carter wrapped up our final wedding of the weekend!
We enjoyed celebrating with Austin and Mattie tonight in Moundridge for wedding #1 of the weekend!
Reminiscing on Nicole and Zane’s wedding from a few weeks ago as we prepare for a weekend full of weddings this week! Saturday and Sunday are going to be fun ones so stay tuned to see some highlights!
Come see us at Eberly Farm! We’re here til 6 and would love to see how we can make your day special!
2020 was a challenging year for us. Trying to navigate an entertainment business through a pandemic was stressful to say the least. We worked really hard to do our best to accommodate all of the uncertainty with date and venue changes, and trying to be good listeners when some were emotional.
As things began to open back up, I can proudly say that we were able to take care of every one of our clients rescheduled dates. Sometimes that meant switching from myself to Matt as their scheduled DJ/MC (or vice versa) but overall, we were able to take care of everyone.
With that being said, when I see reviews like this come in, it makes all of the hard work and sleepless nights well worth it! Matt knocked it out of the park with this one as usual!
We're changing the way that entertainment and planning is done for your wedding!
Flourish Films just sent us the link to Gentry and Tyler's wedding reception from a couple of weeks ago! It was such a fun night!!! Check out their work! If you are needing a videographer, they are great to work with! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_7WgtIyeWU&feature=youtu.be

I'm a few hours from home tonight, but excited to celebrate with Daniel and Alyssa and their guests!
Last night, we were finally able to celebrate with Blake and Cheyenne at Distillery 244! We added bistro lighting that doubled for both their ceremony and head table backdrop! It was a great wedding with a full dance floor all night! We definitely had a blast and didn’t want the night to end!

I loved being able to be a part of Sarah and Zack's wedding reception today. Although they had to alter their plans a little, I was so happy to see the turnout.
Their story is a unique one. They met for the first time at the pumphouse in Wichita, and a woman that they didn't know walked up to them and told them how great they look together, and asked how long they had been married. Having the sense of humor that they both have, they went right along with it!
Props to Darrin Hackney Photography for being able to step in at the last minute to cover this one as well (even sending me this same day photo of Sarah holding the sloth)! Also Tanganyika Wildlife Park for providing the absolute coolest animal ambassador ever! Chewy the sloth was a big hit!
It was a perfect day for a wedding, and I'm thankful that Sarah and Zack trusted me to be a part of it!
Thrilled to be able to work with Zack and Sarah tonight at beautiful Tanganyika wildlife park! We're doing our part to help guests feel safe by integrating song requests remotely from their phones!
It was a beautiful day to celebrate with Alex and Allison! @ Brick and Mortar Event Venue
On March 14th, they had to have a much smaller wedding than they had planned, and 4 months later they were finally able to have all of their friends and family together to celebrate with them! Congrats to Justin and ! Theirs is one of the most unique love stories that I've heard in over 21 years of being a wedding DJ/MC. I loved being able to be a part of your celebration!
COVID-19 may have changed the date and the venue a couple of times, but we were excited to finally celebrate with Heather and Ben this last weekend!
Although it has been an "interesting" last couple of months (the longest that we've gone in 21 years of business without an event), it's given us time to work on our processes. One of the exciting things that we have implemented is an app based planning profile for our clients!
You'll be able to invite as many of your guests as you'd like to collaborate on song selections for your dance, you'll be able to add comments to each others' song requests, as well as being able to "like" them. Our clients are set up as "event hosts" allowing you complete control over what happens with those requests, even being able to place them on a "do not play" list without anyone ever knowing.
What does that all mean? It's like Instagram, but for song selection! It allows you to invite your guests to get involved early in the process, and creates even more excitement for your event! For our existing clients, you'll be able to continue using our past event management system, or we will be happy to set you up on the app based version!
We want to thank those working the front lines!
We've been working for the past several weeks collecting images of doctors and nurses for a video project that we have been working on as a small way to say thank for all that they are doing. Tonight is the night! We'll be going live at 9:00 (Central Time).
I want to take a second and brag on my wife Heather.
She has been an absolute rock star throughout this whole coronavirus ordeal. She works in commercial lending, and with all of the financial uncertainty, she's been having to work 7 days a week, sometimes 12 hour days, helping businesses manage the financial uncertainty of everything, which is helping many of them stay afloat.
I am very thankful that at least one of us is able to continue working. As you know, our business is centered around people gathering to celebrate, and well, that's sort of illegal at the moment so we are in a holding pattern!
I'm extremely thankful for everyone who is working long hours during this pandemic, most of all of our healthcare workers!
For any of you that have rock star spouses who are working long hours during this ordeal, especially those who work in health care, tag them so we can start to thank them!
What do you do when the biggest educational conference in your industry gets cancelled and you can't attend? You watch it online! I may be stuck working out of my home office, but my mission to continually get better at my craft never stops! Thank you for making sure that the show goes on!
I am looking forward to getting past this (however long that it takes), and getting back to being able to doing what I love, which is being a part of your celebrations!
While times are challenging now for all of us, we will all get through this together, and will be stronger coming out of it. I know there is a lot of uncertainty with so many of you who have events that are right around the corner, not knowing if you'll be able to keep your chosen date or not, but I want you to know, if you do end up having to choose a new date, it will all work out, and you will still have an incredible wedding day!
We have such a great group of wedding and event service providers in the area. If you do end up having to choose a new date, and you struggle to find a date that works with the original team of service providers that you were planning to work with, please know that there are so many talented professionals in our area who are more than willing to step in and help.
We will do everything that we can to accommodate your date changes as well. In an effort to ease that burden, we will be offering a 20% discount on any of our available Sunday-Thursday dates, and 10% off for any of our available Friday dates moving forward for the next 12 months. Simply mention this post!
We know that getting through this will not be an overnight process, but we will be ready to celebrate with you when we get past it!
If you're engaged, or know of someone who is, this is an event that you'll definitely want to attend! Say hello to me while you're there as well! :)
Congratulations to Jordan and Rachel tonight! (They are buried in the middle of their guests!) What a great group on a beautiful Kansas evening!
There are 3 things in life that are guaranteed: death, taxes, and that puppy Oliver is going to do his part when I'm loading the dishwasher!
I bet we'll see this song being chosen for a lot of first dances in the near future! https://youtu.be/4h9o0Gujuoc

It's our favorite time of year, we're getting lots of calls and emails from excited couples who were recently engaged! As you begin the process of selecting the right DJ/MC for your wedding, make sure that you do your research!
When selecting your DJ/MC, make sure that you know WHO your DJ/MC will be, not just the company that they work for. Schedule a time to meet with and interview the person that you're interested in, to see if you're comfortable with them. If you have an uneasy feeling with them during that process, it's better to find out then, before your committed to work with them. Once you make your decision, make sure that you have it in writing that is who you're DJ/MC will be.
Also, ask to see photos of what they will be setting up at your wedding. This is a photo of one of our recent wedding receptions at Noah's venue. We always make sure that our setup is clean, neat, organized, and blends into your space. For more information on how we can help you with your wedding day, contact us today at www.absolutesounddj.com.
As we celebrate the beginning of 2020, ASDJ is also celebrating the beginning of our 21st year in business! Looking back to where we started to where we are now, I'm so thankful that so many of our fellow wedding and event professionals (as well as our past clients) continue to refer us to their clients, their friends, and their families.
We've traditionally filled most of our calendar in the first 60 days of the year, and this year looks to be continuing that trend. This year we want to do a little something for all of you who continue to support and refer us. For any referrals that we receive that book our services between now and the end of February 2020 for their future event, (whether it be from our friends in the wedding and event industry, or from past clients) as a token of our appreciation, have them mention your name on their contact form, or when they call.
If we end up working with them, we'll be sending you a $50.00 gift card to the restaurant of your choice as a small way to say Thank You!
Oddly enough, I've heard from a few people that it is circulating around that we're getting out of the business. That is news to me! While I will at some point in the future (won't we all?) It's definitely not in the near future, so you can imagine my surprise!
Let's go!

This is the finished product for the edit that I did for David and Nicolette's first dance last weekend. There are so many things that my clients and I can work together on in order to add more of themselves into their celebrations. This is one of the many ways we can do that in order to make the day that much more memorable for not only the couple, but their friends and family as well!
