Hi, I am Lauren Brown, married to Danny Brown and mama to Roy & Ben. I thought it was time to share deeper into the seed that was planted for our Ride | Restore Women's Ranch Riding Retreat. Here is a snip it of our story...

In 2024 I was a new mom to 2 boys. In April of 2024 I lost my mom to su***de. Even when relationships are complicated, the loss of your mother leaves a space that is difficult to explain. My mom shaped pieces of me that I didn't recognize until she was gone.

At the same time, I was deep in motherhood, we were raising two little boys and running our cows. I was trying to find my footing while navigating some ppd on top of it. Between grief and demands of everyday life, I found myself in the trenches. I needed something to help get me through to the new me.

In Aug 2024 I was sent a flyer for a memorial ride at a ranch tucked deep in the hills of Humboldt County. I was invited to join a weekend with local cattle women. It was sketchy cell service, delicious home cooked meals, & even better company ( oh and our horses!) I was all in... It was exactly what I needed!! Not a dose of what a dr would order, but the kind of medicine a ranch woman would need.

So I loaded up my three year old son, our two mares, and we were headed for some steep trails!!

At the time, I had no idea that weekend was quietly planting a seed. That two years later, would come full circle for the Women's Riding Retreat I get to host at our ranch today. That season of life changed me & started something I didn't yet know was growing. These weekends are about so much more than riding our horses. They're about getting away, slowing down, laughing around the dinner table, connecting with other women & remembering were not carrying everything alone.

I have some great stories about this weekend I would love to share, this is only part of the story. 🤍

A big cheers to the ladies grinding it out in the tough seasons of life. The sun WILL come back out again. Thank you all for following along.
