Thistle isn’t just a weed… it’s one of the most overlooked medicinal plants growing right under your feet.
When we tincture it, we’re using different parts of the plant for different purposes:
🌿 Root (gut + digestion support)
Traditionally used to support digestion, help stimulate bile flow, and move things through the gut more efficiently—especially when meals are heavier or harder to break down.
🌿 Leaves (liver + detox support)
Known for supporting liver function, helping the body process toxins, and offering antioxidant protection at the cellular level.
Put together, you’re supporting both sides of the system:
→ the gut where digestion begins
→ the liver where everything gets processed
But here’s the part most people don’t think about…
We don’t spray our thistle.
No glyphosate. No pasture sprays.
If it’s growing where our animals graze, it matters. Whatever goes on that plant doesn’t just disappear—it works its way into the soil, into the forage, and eventually into the animals… and into us.
So we pull it by hand.
Yes, it’s slower. Yes, it’s more labor. But we’d rather put in the time than cut corners on what we’re feeding our animals and our family.
Healthy land → healthy animals → food you can actually trust.
Wild medicine doesn’t need to be complicated—it just needs to be respected.
Would you spray it—or pull it by hand? I’m curious where you land.
