This is a professionally guided TWO WEEK beginner series designed to take you from “I’ve always wanted to learn…” to confidently sitting down & actually playing.

Hello Gorgeous, can we talk? 💋

What a night. From backstage buzz and cocktails, to the runway, to somehow doing a tango dip with .q 💕 with … pure joy.

One of my favorite parts of the night? This fabulous muumuu… which had me thinking it might be perfect Mahjong attire 💋 chic, comfortable, colorful, and made for making an entrance at the table.

I’m always collecting inspiration for fun things to wear when playing Mahjong, and this look definitely made the list.

Beyond the fashion and fun, what I love most about Fashionably Westport is that it’s community showing up for community. I’m grateful to have been part of a night supporting and the important work they do for neighbors in need.

There’s something beautiful about tables in all forms… runway tables, dinner tables, Mahjong tables… they bring people together.

Thank you for bringing together fashion, fun and purpose. And thank you 📸 for always making us look fabulous.

Mahj On Gorgeous 💋

Last night was one of those nights I don’t even want to wait to post about… even if it’s completely out of order.

Two of the girls in my Mahjong group host their own Seders with their families, they started telling us stories about the last time they did one, somehow that turned into “we should do a sample Seder together.” And we did…Potluck style!

Our hostess had everything, the prayer booklet, the traditional elements all beautifully set out on that special tray I still can’t remember what it’s called, potato kugel, brisket, all of it. Another friend brought homemade matzoh ball soup. I made macaroons, plain and dark chocolate, and of course brought Italian cookies, which in hindsight was probably not exactly Seder approved but my intentions were pure 😆

Then… there was the horseradish. Thank goodness I love horseradish because apparently you can put it on everything. Especially helpful during the gefilte fish moment… I stayed brave, took a tiny bite, added a lot of horseradish, lived to tell the story.

Four glasses of Manischewitz later (and a bourbon on the side😋), we were laughing, telling stories & sharing memories. One husband joined us, then a son sat down… suddenly it felt like this beautiful mix of tradition, family … just life. We heard stories about childhood Seders, about moms who may or may not have blessed the wine a little early just to get through the evening honestly relatable, and the moment the door opens for Elijah, which somehow felt both meaningful and hilarious all at once.

What struck me most… we’ve only been playing Mahjong together for under a year. Every week we coordinate schedules, work around family, get subs when we need to, we make it happen. We always say we probably wouldn’t have all become friends if we met randomly somewhere else. But here we are. Not just bonded over Mahjong, but over curiosity, stories, traditions, women’s lives, family, laughter. Nights like this, where you step into someone else’s traditions, learn, laugh, just be together… those are the ones you remember 💗

I just love this! Opportunities to connect and create meaningful conversations within our community ❤️💋🀄️

Could we please bring back the lost art of the simple get-together? Fancy dinners are great. Themed nights are so fun, but it is HARD to plan that stuff. As a whole, we’re really not craving over-the-top celebrations. We’re craving connections, but we’ve gotta make it easier and lower the expectations. Lower. Nope. Even lower. So invite some neighbors to hang out in lawn chairs. Get out a pack of cards. Pack picnics for the beach. Throw down your leftover Christmas paper plates, shove the clothes and toys scattered around in a coat closet, light a candle, and call it good.

It doesn’t need to be Instagram-worthy to be worthy.

Being together is enough.
