Hello everyone! Normally I do not share things like this, but we have 2 special needs kiddos in our community, specifically in Westfield AND both in fostercare, who can get a special needs tricycle through AMBUCS. National AMBUCS also owns Amtryke LLC, produces and sells adapted trykes. Their mission is to Inspire Mobility and Independence. These tricycles are AMAZING. I viewed one today and was blown away by the features!! Everything is tailored to each child's needs whether it be seatbelts and foot straps, to arm pedals or rear steering and breaks for parent use. These are extremely well made bikes that will be used for a very long time due to how adjustable they are to the child. Unfortunately they come with a price tag of anywhere between $2-3k. I can understand the price after viewing one myself. There is nothing cheap about how they are made and every safety feature was thought of. Both of these kiddos are next in line for a tricycle so please consider donating through the link that serves the greater chautauqua area! Once their funds are met, the funds will be used to purchase a bike for another kiddo in our area!
These volunteers work to fundraise to offer these bikes to little or no cost to families! I will also put their facebook link in the comments. Anyone is free to contact them with a special needs child and they operate out of the OT department at JCC
