Doing it scared but doing it anyway.
When Renee Dalo is about to ask you a few questions, the nerves kick in just a little, but in the best, most energizing way. Standing at her booth at Wedding MBA, I pushed myself to get in front of the camera. To show up, be seen and lean into growth, even when it felt uncomfortable. For me, this wasn’t about perfection, it was about connection. I want my future couples and clients to truly know me, the person who’s just as dedicated to learning and elevating her craft, as she is to creating unforgettable celebrations. When couples tell me, they wish they’d found me sooner, or when they trust me to ask the questions they don’t even know to ask, that’s the connection that reminds me why I show up the way, I do. I’m walking away from this experience inspired, energized and excited for what’s ahead. Thank you for the insight, encouragement, and the spark, you gave to so many of us in the industry.

One year ago, I took a leap of faith and launched Sonia Bartzis Events. It wasn’t just starting a business, it was stepping into a dream that had been in my heart. It was turning years of experience and taking the leap to make my own mark.

This past year has been about building something meaningful, letting God lead the way and finding my place in this incredible community. Along the way, I’ve met inspiring people, helped lovely couples and families celebrate their most important moments, and even had the honor of being featured in Chicago Style Weddings.

Starting something new takes courage, but continuing to grow and push forward each day takes perseverance. I’m deeply grateful for everyone who has encouraged and supported me on this journey.

When people ask why I started Sonia Bartzis Events, I still remember the first event I ever helped plan.
I was filled with adrenaline, excited by every moving part, and completely focused on making sure things ran smoothly.

I thrived in the energy, the pressure, the responsibility and I’ll never forget the moment I saw the couple smiling, and completely at ease. That’s when it clicked:
"This is what I’m meant to do."

I believe every couple deserves to be fully present on their wedding day, not stressed, not checking timelines, and not tracking down vendors.

I’m here to support couples who want more than just a beautiful wedding; they want a planning journey that feels calm, intentional, and personal.

While I'm beginning this solo journey, I bring years of experience behind the scenes and a heart full of passion for managing every detail.
