Now that the off-season is drawing to a close and no more Vinyl Sundays until the fall, time to step up the dj booth. Almost done with the build, then it’s time for giving it a paint job and a good shine before rolling it out.

I plan to take the Frankenstein booth and turn it into a mobile setup.

I've been a little quiet on here lately, but that doesn't mean that I've been dormant. Every Sunday through the end of April I'll be rocking the decks at Devil's Purse for Vinyl Sundays. Sunday, May 3rd will be the "Final Vinyl" Sunday until the fall, so make sure to mark your calendars!

Saturday, May 2nd will be the last Live Jukebox of the shoulder season as well. As we're coming up on Cinco de Mayo, expect, well, no cultural appropriation of any kind and absolutely no green beer, but it's probably a good bet you'll hear Vamos or Isla de Encanta by the Pixies at some point.

But the big reason I haven't been on here much is I've been developing some vinyl based music games, and I have one that is just about ready for prime time. That's right, Vinyl Music Bingo will soon be available and coming to your favorite drinking establishment soon. I've been working hard on making this a fun and enjoyable experience, and I hope I'll be able to share it all with you very soon. This is real, analog music games. Vinyl records, paper game cards, real daubers. I want to bring the actual game experience to you, not just an app or a website with a code and another reason for people to stare at their phones instead of actually talking with their neighbors. If the soft test is any indication, you'll have spontaneous sing-alongs all night while playing games and sometimes getting lucky enough to win a prize!

This likely isn’t the first time you’d be seeing this video, and even if you have seen it before, it still leaves an impact.

Ten years ago (give or take a week), Maggie Rogers was a student at NYU when Pharrell Williams joined her class as an artist in residence. Rogers, nervous at first, played her new song “Alaska” for him (“It’s good for now,” she said) and he was blown away, to use an understatement. He compared her to Wu-Tang Clan and Stevie Wonder, amazed at what he’d heard.

What happened next? The clip went viral, she graduated, and labels fought over signing her. She quickly began her studio career, went on Fallon, played SNL ... and today she continues to be the ever-increasingly popular musician, Maggie Rogers.

It's hard to pick out a best moment from the clips in the comments, whether it's seeing Rogers react to her own song, how her vibe changes throughout, Pharrell's reactions as the song goes along, and then her reactions to his reactions.
