Mia's Waltz

Last night we filmed Mia's Quinceañera. She and her family decided at the last minute that they just had to have a videographer and what a wise choice! Mia and her court performed a waltz that was so outstanding that it would have been tragic had it not been captured properly!

Wrapped up our 2019 season last night celebrating Izzy and Jeff's wedding at Smith Flat House Cellar and Grill. These two have been separated by continents (Izzy in the UK and Jeff in CA) and last night was Part 1 of their wedding extravaganza - the celebration continues in July in Oxford! It was also fun to work again with A Moment of Joy Photography - looking forward to doing more of that in 2020!

Was having a conversation with a potential client today about the need for a full length video. My take is it’s ESSENTIAL! There are so many wonderful moments that would never make it into a short film — like this interaction between a grandma and her grandson. Our clients cherish moments like this being captured and delivered in their video instead of ending up on the editing floor!

The Sterling Hotel provides such a beautiful backdrop! A little behind the scenes on this clip — we had totally lost light thanks to DST and we still wanted to get this shot. Thanks to for sharing his brand spanking new 24mm f/1.4 lens with me so I didn’t need to waste time setting up light stands. I love working with a fellow Sony shooter who is willing to share his new toys 😀

The beauty of using multiple cameras with zoom lenses is it allows us to stay to the sides and the back (and stay out of your photographer and guests’ way)!
