Our 2026 Beneficiary: The Mrs Claus Club ❤️
Log Cabin Cares is honored to support The Mrs Claus Club as the beneficiary of this year’s Sporting Clays Benefit. At the heart of this incredible organization is one powerful thing: friendship.
Nearly 20 years ago, Virginia Vasko and a close-knit group of friends—friends since childhood—founded The Mrs Claus Club after witnessing firsthand the physical and emotional toll chemotherapy and radiation took on their loved ones. Their shared experiences inspired a mission rooted in compassion, care, and community.
After Virginia’s unexpected passing in 2022, Megan Ruse and Courtney Wiltrout stepped in to help lead the organization, ensuring that the meaningful work of Virginia and the founding members would continue and grow.
🎗️ What The Mrs Claus Club Does:
When someone requests a comfort basket for a loved one battling cancer, the club thoughtfully assembles items to help ease the challenges of treatment. These baskets often include gas cards, Aquafor, Biotene, and other essentials. Through a partnership with Studio Seven Salon in Washington, the club also provides access to customized wigs through its wig bank.
Each basket is personalized with gift cards to favorite restaurants or shops, along with hygiene and comfort products that help address side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. These thoughtful touches help patients feel supported during a time when they may not have the energy or ability to gather these items themselves.
By participating in the Log Cabin Cares Sporting Clays Benefit, you’re helping ensure that comfort, kindness, and friendship reach those who need it most.
