One of the many aches of the pandemic was not being able to write for folks in person. I’ve missed the magic of channeling a poem in the moment, the sweetness of watching it land.

Who knows what the coming months will look like, or if gathering will still be safe. Grateful I got to spend some time this summer at Medomak, making, teaching, and writing poems on the spot. Look closely to catch a glimpse of my book of poems about making, , available on my website.

I choose the title word using a random word generator –except, of course, nothing is random! I meditate on the word, and crack the door a bit to catch a glimpse of the poem inside it. The magic of Poetryscopes is in the serendipitous juxtaposition of the word, the moment the poem lands, and the reader whose hands it lands in.

Each Poetryscope is unique, hand-typed, and comes signed and sealed in a kraft paper envelope. With a monthly subscription, they are snail-mailed on the first of each month for a year!

Need a Poem for Valentines Day?

I know, I know... Valentines Schmalentines. On the one hand, it's mostly a marketing gimmick manufactured to sell chocolate and tchotchkes. On the other hand, for a hard working like myself, it's one of those golden times of the year when folks remember how powerful a thing a poem can be, how sweet a vehicle to carry affection, appreciation, gratitude, and love.
