Tips for Working Remotely

1. Get up at your regular time, shower, and get dressed. Keeping a normal schedule is so important for morale and keeping your internal clock on time.

2. Keep regular hours. Determine your daily start and stop times -- and your lunch and snack breaks. Stick to it. Just because you are home does not mean you are available for work 24/7.

3. Create a work space. Clear a table, find a chair. The sofa or your bed is not appropriate. If you are taking many video calls, straighten up the area behind you so you appear tidy and together.

4. Take breaks. Go outside for a walk around the block. Open your windows and scream at the alley. Play with the dog/cat/hamster/fish.

5. Do not turn on the TV -- and social media -- until you are done working. It is a mind and time suck, and you will be distracted.

6. RELAX. This situation is temporary.
