You know it’s a Party Bee event when there is shrimp and grits on the buffet and revere bowls of our Party Bee Bar Mix on the high tops alongside silver julep cups of flowers. No matter the corporate venue, we love to bring a little elegant Southern comfort to the gathering.

Wine tasting events are always a treat for us to do. One of our longest serving bartenders, Bill, used to work at the Caucus Room downtown and helped design their wine list. We are so lucky to have had his help over the past two decades as a wine expert, bartender and Party Bee team member! Cheers to many more wine tastings and speciality drinks with him behind the bar.

The sterling silver goblets and candle sticks on this hostess’ buffet table were show stopping. I love how she used simple roses and garden cuttings to bring the outdoors in. That’s my kind of elegant comfort: greenery in a goblet!

Let’s goooo! It’s red beans and rice day, otherwise known in the South as wash day. Typically prepared on a Monday when you are home all day washing, folding and ironing because it takes all day. I usually make my first batch around this time of year and “put up” (as my grandmother called it) quarts in the freezer to enjoy all football season long.

What a beautiful morning helping with their inaugural Sunday Brunch: Feast! Among the buffet items were baked goods from two places near and dear to me: scones and muffins from Mission Muffins, a workforce development program housed and granola and cookies from a workforce development program in Alexandria, VA. What a joy to be able to spread the good news of these two important programs while feeding the parish of our lovely church community.
