DC Fight Night Makes Grand Debut in Nation's Capital with Knock-Out Line-Up of Undefeated Champions, Legends and Icons
Washington, DC (September 26, 2016)- DC Fight Night today announced it will be making its grand debut in the nation’s capital on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 6pm-11pm at the historic Sphinx Club of Washington, DC located at 1315 K St NW, Washington, DC 20005. The new boxing promotions company is bringing a dynamic new flair to a tradition that is hailed as one of the most iconic sports in America—boxing!
DC Fight Night is set to launch its premier boxing and entertainment event series with the promise of bringing first-time monthly bouts that will showcase native up and coming champions and notable talent, while paying homage to the city's iconic boxing legends, culture and history—all in a prolific fight to make a difference in the community. The pro bout card will feature a knock-out line-up of the city's most dynamic and undefeated boxers, including the much anticipated main event Patrick Harris (9-0), the highly touted co-main event Antonio Magruder (4-0), the pro-debut of World Gold medalist Tiara Brown, and 10 electrifying under cards all hailing from the District.
In addition to the action inside of the ring, the September 30th launch will feature several notable touches that offer an unprecedented fan experience, including a stellar host panel of renown boxing champions including Lamont and Anthony Peterson, USBA welterweight champion Dusty Hernandez-Harrison, along with live performances by award winning DJ Quicksilva, and top-charting R&B artist Lyquin. Performing the national anthem will be 2016 World Bronze Medalist Franchon Crews, and internationally acclaimed Henry "Discombobulating" Jones will be the Ring Announcer for the card. Special invited guests include boxing legends, Hall of Famer, Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson, Keith Holmes, and Andrew Council.
Tickets are priced at $100 (Ringside), $80 (Floor), $60 (General Admission), with limited VIP tables of 6 with complimentary bottles priced at $800. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children and Children's National Medical Center in an effort to raise awareness and support for cancer treatment and research, in loving memory of DC Fight Night's co-founder, LaMont "Monte" Wanzer.
The DC Fight Night press-conference and weigh-in will take place on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 5pm-8pm at Opera Lounge, located at 1400 I St., NW Washington, DC 20005. The
event is open press with media check-in beginning promptly at 5pm with a complimentary buffet provided by the award-winning Olde Towne Inn Restaurant.
The event series is slated to make a big splash in the community that will be felt across the nation. DC Fight Night's monthly series will feature celebrity hosts, entertainment icons, legendary boxers, and a heavy-hitting line-up of boxing champions taking center stage in the nation’s capital for a knock-out night of entertainment, philanthropy and stars.
