‼️ Case Study Alert!‼️

In September of 2024, more than 30 Architex employees and freelancers converged on the Georgia World Congress Center to produce the technical elements of an event for a global hospitality company. Partnering with SoHo Experiential, Architex was entrusted with reimagining the event to elevate engagement and create immersive, brand-centric experiences for each participant.

In addition to 8 main stages, Architex produced the Network Hub, a hospitality centered trade show With distributed content solutions, rigging planning and supervision, and power calculations, Architex seamlessly pulled off a hundred-booth experience in a standalone fashion that accompanied the main stage experience.

The collaboration between the two powerhouse firms - Imagination Creative Agency and Architex Inc. - had been long-awaited, and the stars finally aligned to work together on this unique, immersive project.

When Imagination came to us, they were looking for a technical partner to source, manage, install, and execute a sleek and stunning design for a full sized Jaguar clay model car as an activation at the NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco, CA.

After a challenging load-in faced with a short installation timeline, uncooperative weather, and unexpected deviations from design, under the guidance of Dave, the team created a sleek experience that impressed not just the celebrity clientele, but also the end-client: Jaguar Cars.

With a slogan of “copy nothing,” Architex remained true to mission, curating an experience where innovation meets purpose.

Architex continues its exponential growth and is thrilled to welcome Ian Burke to the team as a full time audio/visual staff member, specializing as the primary in-house technician for Aspen Institute.

Ian is an A/V Technician and Video Conferencing specialist with a background in music and technology.

He has provided top-tier support and leadership at institutions such as The World Bank and The National Institutes of Health.

Drumroll please!

After many years freelancing with Architex, Danny Baldwin joins the team as a full time production manager and av supervisor.

Having come up in the audio scene of Washington DC, and a willingness to throw himself into the fire, he became a Swiss-Army knife in the AV world. He leads with kindness, adaptability, and expertise and continues to manage production assets for festivals, conferences, and galas. Before joining Architex Danny was a consultant for the US Department of Treasury after receiving a Masters in Public Administration from George Washington University, where he focused on local government and budgeting. He loves friendship, travel, and skateboarding (with wrist guards) but more importantly, being a member of the DC community.

Everyone please give Danny a warm welcome to the ranks as a full timer. Don’t worry, you’ll still see him on show sites with that jolly smile and can-do attitude (and maybe even a skateboard).

Architex is thrilled to welcome Taylor Tobak to the team as a Production Manager.

Taylor Tobak is a passionate project manager specializing in performing arts, educational programs, and events. With a background in programming from her time at Smithsonian Associates and Washington Bach Consort, Taylor loves bringing stories to life and creating meaningful connections.

She earned a Master of Arts in Global Entertainment and Music Business from Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain, where she was also the Artistic Coordinator for TEDxBerkleeValencia.

In her free time, Taylor enjoys traveling, live music, theater, volunteering for the Smithsonian, cheering on the Nationals, and relaxing by the water or at restaurants with friends, family, and her dog, Maverick.

Read about how Architex partnered with CREW DC to bring their awards galas over the past four years to life. As the pandemic raged and then receded, Architex' involvement transformed the event fro fully virtual, to hybrid-simulive broadcasts, and finally to fully in-person.

Technology Shout Out! 🗣️

OptiSigns is a company that offers “digital signage solutions” – but more importantly, and as it pertains to Architex, the OptiSign Device discreetly plugs into a TV via HDMI, allowing it to become a digital sign or display any assigned content. The company advertises itself to offer dynamic signage (typically found in hotels, restaurants, and retail) to show pertinent information to customers, including schedules, current weather, and promotional materials. While marketed towards these industries, OptiSign - with its adaptability and ease of use - is currently underutilized in the events space.

Having deployed Optisigns on large scale event sites was evidence that they are an exceptional solution for event signage at any scale. Architex deployed 120 devices on a trade show floor and throughout the convention space showing a mixture of sponsorship submitted content, scrolling powerpoints with video, and live scheduling updates. While a lot of work goes into ensuring all submitted content is of the appropriate size and format, the payoff of reliable control over all publicly displayed event content is invaluable.

There are increasing opportunities to utilize the OptiSign device in the event spaces. After using even one time it is clear that it made the onsite experience better for attendees, sponsors, and those behind the scenes alike.

Working abroad presents many challenges. While considering the usual factors to producing an event away from our home base, we also have to consider how customs plays a role in transporting equipment across international borders, while also considering the tools our personnel travel with to do their jobs. We also consider the safety of our employees when traveling internationally; every staff member is added to our international liability insurance. Architex also equips staff with a statement of purpose for international work.
