Housewives for Town Council!! For all of our town resident friends, it would be an honor to serve you and to have your support on November 3! π
I'm Christian Malott and I am running for an at large position on the Warrenton Town Council on November 3, 2026. I am running to address three major, ongoing issues facing our town: affordability, the deficit, and transparency.
1. Affordability: Warrenton is not a viable option for many middle class families. Per Zillow, the typical home value in town is nearly $600,000. In order to attract workers and families for future generations, we need to incentivize affordable housing so that Warrenton remains competitive in the Northern Virginia market.
2. Deficit: Warrenton has a history, that continues to this day, of shutting the door on any growth. While our small town charm is an asset that must be protected, we need to balance these qualities with the ongoing needs of the town. Because of the staunch refusal of the current council to consider any growth opportunities, their only answer is to raise taxes to counteract the deficit. Opportunities for growth should be considered on a case-by-case basis to ensure that they are a good fit for our town. It is imperative to make these considerations to help alleviate the burden on our residents who are currently bearing the brunt of our deficit issues.
3. Transparency: Open and transparent government is what many council members have run on, yet what they have not delivered. Town residents deserve to know exactly what is going into council members' votes. You deserve to have town managers and attorneys who are going to remain in their positions, and not removed for mysterious reasons. These decisions only add to public distrust, and leave residents picking up the bill for the change in management. This kind of governance is exactly what I aim to bring to a close, as your council member.
Additionally, I am a prosecutor and public servant dedicated to seeking justice. I work with victims of sexual and domestic violence, and will bring that same passion to town council. I have worked with my husband and various charitable organizations around town to collect food, supplies, and to raise money for local unhoused populations and disadvantaged families of Fauquier County, and Fauquier County schools.
I look forward to the possibility of serving you, and would appreciate your support this November.
