Also welcoming to The Maco stage this Friday… W***y and the Rangers! They will be keeping the music going between our three line dancing sets and after to keep the party going.

These beloved local faves need no introduction… but just in case! They’re a five-piece Iron Range band playing country in the h***y tonk tradition of Dwight Yoakam, Merle Haggard and more. A quick introduction to our instructor Grace that will be guiding us Friday night!

Grace grew up with a background in dancing ballet, but was introduced to line dancing through her agricultural sorority, where she initially decided that she hated country music. The music, however, began to grow on her, and shortly after college she was teaching herself how to line dance off of Youtube. She has taught line dancing in ballroom dance studios and breweries around Duluth and was featured in the Duluth News Tribune. She likes to run a high energy class where you'll wonder if you accidently stepped into a dance cardio workout.

When people are nervous to mess up on the dance floor, Grace likes to remind them that mistakes are welcomed and very essential to learning! Having fun (even if not all the steps are correct) and developing confidence is the ultimate goal!

P.S. Grace has over 30 dances in her catalog. And although we told her it's dealers choice which dances she wants to teach, we had to put in a request for Footloose 😋Let us know what dances you want to learn!

Are you making your Friday night plans? It’s going to be a great night downtown Virginia! The classic car cruise night is going on (car show on Saturday) & we’ll be having line dance instruction and live music in the theater from 8-11 pm. Come participate or watch and enjoy!

Make it a whole night and show our 400 block neighbors at The Arrowhead and Mel’s Sportspage some love for dinner and drinks!

Regarding posts being circulated about The Maco Theater not using the same line dancing instructors at our upcoming event on August 21st-

As independent venue owners, we aim to curate a diverse, high-quality lineup of entertainment and events for our community. Decisions regarding programming, hiring, and scheduling rest entirely with our management team and we are fully committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment for our events, live music, and wellness classes. We will not bash any group, but this situation just comes down to a misalignment in how we run our events. Bottom line, we have wanted to do a line dancing night for a long time (we started discussing it well over a year ago actually) and would never run something we aren’t in control of or that doesn’t feel good for our hearts.

Thank you to everyone who has stood by us, rolled up their sleeves, and helped us open these doors. We can't wait to see you at our next show! ❤️
