Some plants are bred in labs.
Some are tested in real life.

This one started from a seed I personally brought back from the Caribbean.

We started it indoors. It struggled early. Thin leaves. Long stretch. Wild growth.
Still, we kept it alive and moved it outside.

Once it hit real sun and real earth, it took off.

Then Virginia hit back.

Cold nights came fast. The plant started flowering too late for the season. The leaves yellowed. Buds twisted. The cold kept pressing harder and harder until the plant finally died back before it could fully finish.

We harvested what we could and left the area alone.

Months passed.

Rain. Frost. Hard freezes. Cold mornings in the 30s. Nobody checked the spot again from October until May.

Then one day we walked back out there…

And saw a single volunteer growing right beside the dead branches from the original plant.

Not in perfect soil.
Not protected.
Not started indoors.

Just one seed that dropped naturally onto the ground and survived a Virginia winter after coming from Caribbean genetics.

That’s the part people don’t understand about landrace and older genetics.

Nature starts selecting on its own.

The weak don’t make it.
The stubborn ones do.

And now the volunteer already looks stronger than the original outdoor plant did at the same stage.

Same bloodline.
Two completely different environments.
Two completely different stories.

This is why preservation matters.
Not just for yield.
Not just for hype.

For adaptation.
For resilience.
For the future.

🌱 Caribbean roots. Virginia pressure. Nature made the selection.

As a proud member of Virginians for Safer Cannabis, I’m thrilled to share that we had a highly successful press conference at City Hall this week! 🏛️🎙️

• We joined community leaders to voice our strong support for Richmond’s “Operation Vaporize.” Our message was clear: this isn’t about being anti-business—it’s about being pro-safety. We believe every resident deserves access to a regulated, transparent market, and that starts with holding unlicensed shops accountable. ⚖️💨

• With enforcement set to resume, we are advocating for a fair process that brings shops into compliance and keeps harmful, untested products off our streets. Thank you to everyone who stood with us!

The “NYC Green Milestone”

🗽 5 YEARS. 600 DOORS. New York just hit a massive milestone in its legal cannabis journey. 🌿✨

Five years ago, the MRTA changed the landscape of the Empire State forever. Today, we’re celebrating more than just an anniversary—the opening of the 600th licensed dispensary in New York! 🏥🏙️

From the first legal sale to a statewide network of small businesses and social equity entrepreneurs, the NY market is finally hitting its stride. While the road hasn’t always been easy, the data shows a maturing industry that’s here to stay.

The State of the State:

✅ 600+ Licensed Retailers: Providing safe, tested, and regulated products.

📈 Economic Engine: Tax revenues are finally flowing back into community reinvestment.

🌱 Social Equity: A continued focus on those most impacted by the prohibition era.

New York isn’t just a market; it’s a movement. Here’s to the next five years of growth, safety, and community. 🍎🔥

A massive shift in corporate liability just hit the cannabis industry. 🏛️ Akerman LLP reports a landmark decision by the Delaware Court of Chancery in TILT Holdings Inc. v. SVH LLC, which significantly strengthens the “corporate veil” for Multi-State Operators (MSOs).
The Strategic Breakdown: For the first time, the court has extended a corporate stay to include U.S. cannabis subsidiaries. In plain English: this means that legal disputes or contract failures at the local subsidiary level are now much harder to “leapfrog” up to the parent company.

Why this is a 2026 Game-Changer:

✅ Risk Mitigation: Shields parent company assets from subsidiary-level litigation.

✅ Operational Stability: Prevents local state-level legal “noise” from triggering corporate-wide defaults.

✅ Investor Confidence: Provides a clearer, more traditional corporate structure that institutional investors demand.
As the industry matures, this ruling provides the legal “firewall” that MSOs have desperately needed to scale safely across state lines. 🔒🌿

🍄 EVOLUTIONARY HISTORY: REWRITTEN.

Scientists have just identified a “new” species of magic mushroom that’s been circulating among growers for decades—and it’s changing everything we know about fungal origins. 🧬

Meet Psilocybe ochraceocentrata. Found in the grasslands of South Africa and Zimbabwe, this mushroom was previously thought to be the famous P. cubensis (often grown under names like “Natal Super Strength” or “Transkei”).

The Game-Changing Reveal:

🧪 DNA Analysis: Researchers at Stellenbosch University proved this isn’t just a strain—it’s an entirely separate species that diverged from its famous cousin 1.5 million years ago.

🌍 Origins: This discovery suggests the world’s most famous “magic mushroom” likely has deep African roots, predating the global spread of cattle by over a million years.

🐄 Dung-Dwelling Mystery: It challenges the long-held theory that these fungi only spread to the Americas via livestock in the 1500s.
Nature is a master of disguise, and this “hidden relative” is finally stepping into the light to tell the true story of fungal evolution. 🌿✨

🏛️ “It’s about time.” Congressman Steve Cohen is demanding clarity from the DOJ and DEA on the federal rescheduling of ma*****na.
Despite a presidential directive to expedite the move to Schedule III, the process has stalled. Congressman Cohen is highlighting that for over 50 years, keeping ma*****na as a “Schedule I” substance has:

🧪 Blocked life-saving medical research.

⚖️ Fueled disproportionate sentencing for communities of color.

📉 Ignored modern scientific data.

He’s also calling out the DEA for missing critical deadlines on the HALT Fentanyl Act, which was designed to help researchers study Schedule I substances to combat the overdose crisis.

Federal law needs to catch up with science. It’s time to stop the “cultural lag” and start prioritizing research over outdated restrictions. 💡⚖️

🚨 CRACKDOWN IN NOVA 🚨 Fairfax County Police have broken up a massive drug trafficking scheme operating out of several local v**e shops. Authorities say these businesses were intentionally targeting minors with illegal THC products. During the raids, officers seized ma*****na, fi****ms, and cash. This serves as a major warning to parents about what’s happening behind the counters of local smoke shops.
