Our Story

ABOUT:

Evoking the feeling of an old bistro, yet with a contemporary twist, Bazin’s on Church brings to Vienna an inviting neighborhood dining experience.

Bazin’s on Church offers a contemporary American menu featuring organic and seasonal ingredients. The wine bar features a collection of wonderful wines from around the world, with an emphasis on California. Bazin’s recently received the 2014 Wine Spectator Award for Excellence. We have over 400 wines to choose from.

THE PROPRIETORS:

Bazin’s on Church is the creation of Patrick and Julie Bazin. Patrick Bazin has been one of Washington’s premier chefs for the last two decades, most recently as the Executive Chef at The Occidental Grill in downtown D.C. His wife Julie worked for years imparting her great taste in clothing (and life) to her loyal clients at James Clothiers. Together they have created an exquisite restaurant that fully reflects their refined palates and offers an inviting dining experience. In April of 2012, Patrick and Julie opened a second restaurant now called Bazin’s Next Door. Located right beside the original Bazin’s, their newer restaurant offers a very diversified menu, including authentic Mexican dishes, housemade pastas, salad entrees, and an Amish Brick Chicken dish. Bazin’s Next Door has a full service bar and patio dining.

Chef Patrick Bazin was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease, an immune reaction to eating gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley and rye. More and more people are discovering they are gluten intolerant and are requesting gluten free dining options. Patrick has done a lot of research and as a result has added an entire gluten free section to our dinner menu. Rather than modifying current dishes to meet dietary restrictions he has created fresh and innovative dishes to please everyone’s palate. Whether you too have to modify your diet or just choose to follow the gluten free lifestyle you’ll enjoy these changes to our menu. Click our menu link to view our menus.

BAZIN’S NEXT DOOR:

Bazin’s on Church’s sister venue, Bazin’s Next Door, provides the perfect event space that is available 7 days a week for both lunch and dinner events. Our venue can accommodate up to 40 people for sit-down meals, or up to 70 people for standing cocktail receptions. This is the perfect space for rehearsal dinners, company parties, baby showers, and more!
