We spent yesterday digging up and dividing our iris patch to spread these purple beauties around the property. The end of August/ beginning of September is a great time to divide irises because it gives them enough time to establish their roots before the first frost.

The little girls never pass up a ride in the wheel barrel or a chance to dig in the dirt! It was slow going with these two silly girls, but so fun!

We are using these rainy days to work on our grand opening in September!

It's a family friendly event to tour the venue, enjoy a cookout, dance to the talented music of and celebrate with us!

Our postcards are arriving this week. Who wants to get one in the mail?!

One of the best unexpected adventures has been searching thrift shops, garage sales, and marketplace for items for the venue. We were SO excited to find 100 white wooden chairs! Our little ones also had the best time checking out the chairs, and Roe pulled her best Goldilocks, trying them out until she found one that was just right!

I am glad James did the heavy lifting and let me run around chasing kids and taking photos 😂

I am looking forward to styling the venue and ceremony space and sharing photos soon!

Our older girls snapped this Polaroid on our visit to the Gala Barn over Christmas break. We instantly fell in love with it and prayed that someday we would look back at this photo as the owners of this stunning property. Here we are six months after we moved in, and we are over the moon to be here! It's been a joy to dream and plan, and to start to see it come to life!

It's been a little nuts too! From surviving a move with a 3 month old and a toddler to overcoming a historic flood to celebrating the marriage of our oldest daughter. What a whirlwind!

This summer we've been quietly putting in the work and balancing it out with some much needed rest. We are so grateful to be here and to get to share the next chapter of the Gala Barn and Gardens with you!

We are excited to announce that we will have organic produce and flower bouquets available to purchase this Friday!

We grow everything ourselves using regenerative practices, and can tell you where the seed was purchased, how it was grown, and how to store and cook it!

We currently have green beans, our famous gourmet leaf lettuce, kohlrabi, green onions, and zinnia bouquets. We're hoping to add a few more items to the list, and will post what we're picking on Thursday.

Pick up will be in The Gala Barn and all proceeds will go towards fixing up the farm stand that was damaged by the flood.

This week we are back to focusing on the garden side of Austin Gala Barns and Gardens! The flooding set us back by a few weeks, but we're excited to do what we love and get back to working in the dirt again!

Progression pictures of the courtyard from the flood as we continue to fix it back up! This was one of our favorite areas pre flood, and it was pretty tough to see it decimated by water and mud. The flood took out the platform of the bridge, the poles with our patio lights, benches, spools, landscaping, planters, and stone. Left in its place was thick goopy muck.

We cleaned all week long, and Roe had the best time playing in the mud. At the end of the week, Gregg Excavating and Hauling came to the rescue. They put in a new access road to get the stone to the courtyard, which will hopefully make it easier for future caterers to bring in their food. They filled in the mud pit (much to Roe's dismay) to get the bridge usable again, and covered the courtyard area with fresh white stone.

The feeling of seeing that fresh stone laid was a huge turning point for us, it was like giving the courtyard a fresh coat of paint and brightened our spirits at the end of a very long week.

We had a blank slate to work with and started to recreate the space. We have slowly been adding back in the landscaping and planters. This week we had new benches and lights come in, and have continued to work on the landscaping. We still have more to do to finish it, but we are looking forward to sharing the final photos soon.

We want to say a huge thank you to my Grandpa Ringer, who made it possible to get the stone areas that were damaged taken care of quickly! Gregg Excavating and Hauling was an amazing company to work with. They are smart, excellent at what they do, and hauled to get us back in shape.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone following our journey and cheering us on!

We have so much to be grateful for! Whether you reached out with kind words, helped us financially, or showed up with hands ready to help, we are so incredibly thankful for you! We are fixing, replacing, and making a comeback one day at a time, and we couldn't have done it without all of the support from you!
