From Coach Slater:
👋 Hi! My name is Corey Slater, and I am proud and honored to be named a Co-Coach alongside Coach Drye.
🤼 I’ve been involved in the sport of wrestling for over 30 years—as a competitor, team leader, and coach. I’m a former Class B State Qualifier, Freestyle/Greco-Roman National Qualifier, and a former Eastern Michigan University wrestler.
I’ve coached folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling at Northwest High School, Jackson High School, and have served as the Team Michigan Cadet Director for USA Wrestling.
Currently, I work for Jackson Public Schools as the MTSS Coach/English Teacher at Jackson High School. I also enjoy coaching football 🏈 and supporting all JHS athletic events.
Most importantly, I’m grateful for the support of my amazing family—my wife Erin, our daughter Lorelai (JHS Class of ’25 🎓), and our son Jack (incoming freshman 💪).
I’m excited to help lead the next generation of Viking wrestlers—on and off the mat. Let’s build something legendary.
Go Vikings!
🖤💪🏽🧡
