Four years ago, our family needed a change from Houston's public school system. I wanted something more for our child but was not sure which direction to go. So I googled "Alternative schools for learning in Houston." This led me to a mom blog about different types of schools in Houston. My favorite was Acton Academy. The excerpt read, "If Elon Musk were to create a school for his employees' and their children, this would be it." Fast forward to today, and the change in our child is mind-blowing. From a painfully shy child to speaking in front of a group of 100, collaborating with classmates on projects, and learning a new language. Now in middle school, our child loves going every day with an amazing level of confidence in all areas. This school has helped our child and family fall in love with learning.
