Why do authors choose to do limited edition books? Many reasons, but some include 1) a desire from purchasers to have signed copies which isn't possible with print-on-demand (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.); 2) artistically and print-wise, the author wants to have features and materials that go beyond the standard offerings of print-on-demand platforms opting instead for traditional printing which has more choices for cover materials, paper, design elements, color photo options that are more varied; 3) the author can offer more value at their designated and steadfast price vs. for example, Amazon which has the right to change the retail price; 4) the author views the book as part of their legacy and thus, the creation of it is customized vs. a template, packaged approach; and 5) a signed and limited edition book has more value, particularly for followers, fans, and book collectors.

I’ve had a lot of questions pertaining to my new website to train and also promote officiants nationally as well as other vendors that cater to loved ones incarcerated.

The response to offering to send links to the necessary paperwork to become an approved TDCJ officiant and join my preferred vendor site has been overwhelming.

Although becoming an officiant and obtaining the necessary documentation is a step in the right direction, knowing how to conduct a ceremony and the Family Code in your state is equally important too.

Because of this important aspect, I’m going to be offering one on one consultations to performing a ceremony, signing and filing the license and other factors as a consultant for $95 per 30 minute session.

Moving forward due to the number of traditional vendors contacting me, I will also be working on a promoted vendor page for traditional vendors as well in the next 2 weeks.

Cindy and I are excited about finally finishing our book, opening a retail space for Texas Twins Treasures/The Pawning Planners and what’s next for the Texas Twins..,

Frankly I was so busy working, traveling, corresponding with clients, film companies and journalists that the last thing I had time for was to teach someone how to do what I do.

Coming Soon- I’m going to be using one of my sites for a new opportunity for TDCJ officiants to join on a monthly or yearly plan to be promoted.

For years now because I’m well aware I cannot be everywhere, I’ve referred people to other officiants at my own expense because after all they came to me to begin with.

Moving forward my focus will be on BOP, County & ICE Facilities in the 47 states I service.

This keeps coming up. Proxy Marriage pertaining to an inmate was BANNED in Texas IN 2013!

I’m well aware that there are people lying to get into your pockets on the internet but the facts, the truth and the law are IRREFUTABLE…

As of June 2024, Texas law ONLY allows active-duty military members who are stationed abroad to get married by proxy. This process allows a person to be appointed to stand in for the absent applicant at the ceremony.

The Texas legislature banned proxy marriages for prisoners on September 1, 2013, but in February 2016, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) allowed in-person weddings between prisoners and people outside of prison.

To marry someone incarcerated by the TDCJ, a ceremony must take place on TDCJ property.

TDCJ employees, volunteers, and contract employees are not permitted to conduct ceremonies on TDCJ property or at contracted facilities.

“Why did some TDCJ units stop taking photos on wedding day?”

The policy changed in 2022. Prior to that I paid $3 per photo and bought 3 photos at every Unit on wedding day so we walked out with photos.

Once the policy changed to not being able to buy photos, many Unit’s stopped offering them.

Because of this and because I know my clients want photos on wedding day, all of my vehicles are loaded either bouquets, veils and fun props so I can do my own wedding photos for clients as a courtesy.
