As we welcome our spring produce, we say goodbye to the last of the peonies and plant starts! We still have silver dollar eucalyptus, cherry tomatoes (honeycomb and sweet 100), and a variety of peppers. Find us at Centennial Park from 10-2 today!

Garlic scapes! What are they? They are the curly whips that the garlic plant will produce as it gets ready to flower and go to seed. It takes a lot of energy for a plant to flower, which is why we interrupt the process, by harvesting the scape. This allows energy to go back into the bulb one last time before it is harvested. Scapes have a short window of when they are available (which we're currently in). Garlic scapes are extremely versatile! You can add them fresh to dishes (soups, salads, breads, stir fry, sauces), saute them, or add them to any dish you would use garlic. You can definitely buy them now to preserve for future use as well, add them to butter or oil for the freezer, or dehydrate them for garlic scape salt (which goes great on everything). 🧄

Have you ever tried a tayberry? A tayberry is a cross between a red raspberry and blackberry. Plants are extremely prolific and also covered in tiny thorns. Berries themselves are seedy, but are packed with flavor! These are the berries I grew up with, they make excellent syrups (everything from pancakes, to lemonades, and cocktails) and jams; they go great in baked goods (amazing with pound cake or in scones), and would make an excellent sorbet or popsicles. Of course they are also great on their own too! I'm hoping to try some liquor with this batch for the holidays. Although you might not be able to find them in the store, you can definitely find them at the this Saturday (and you don't even have to worry about the thorns)! Food access programs are welcome!

We are at the from 10-2 today! We have the first of the peas and tayberries, a lot of garlic scapes, and a lot of starts if you're looking to replant or add some more to your collection! Next weekend will be the last weekend for peonies, so get them while you can!

Our produce has finally arrived! Find scapes and cilantro to make a delicious chimichurri, which would be a perfect topper for your Father’s Day steaks or as a great addition to add to your pestos! We still have tomato and pepper starts, as well as eucalyptus. Today is the final day for our dahlia tubers, so make sure to get them before they are gone (sale prices are in effect).

Cool flowers are finally arriving, as well as veggies! Definitely one of those nights harvesting, where you just have to stop and take it in. These snapdragons have yet to be netted, but we lucked out this round with super sturdy and straight stems (and the dusty lavender color is out of this world), the peas next them have also yet to be corraled to the net, so definitely give off all the whimsical vibes.

We have a great selection of plant starts for those who are looking for the ultimate vegetable and herb garden. We also still have silver dollar eucalyptus starts if you are wedding planning. This small business made the big decision this spring to purchase a high tunnel from . This past weekend the two of us got the first big chunk of our high tunnel up! Our growing seasons are definitely short and completely unpredictable, we can't wait to have our season extension and the ability to grow more heat loving crops (I might also be making a list of flowers to grow and overwinter as well (cue a big smirk from D)).

We're at the sweet spot where we can't help but be excited about the future! Flowers are blooming on some plants and fruit is already forming on others. This year we should have a great strawberry crop, as well as tayberries, and raspberries. Although Whatcom County is known for its raspberry production, we love to grow the unique varieties that miss the mark for commercial production. At the market this year we should have both purple and black varieties in addition to our orange and red varieties. We can't wait!

We are here at day two 3 C's Farms plant sale! We still have a lot of:
-silver dollar eucalyptus
-snow peas and young snap peas
-tomatoes (Honeycomb , Sweet 100s, and Brandywine)
-purple elegance lavender
-veggie packs (kale, broccoli, cauliflower)
- dahlia tubers (ala mode, black satin, Cornel bronze, and a few others). We are doing a 5 for $20 deal this weekend!
We will be here until 3! Next market is the on June 7th.
