The Palmer House (1925–present) Chicago , Illinois .

Designed by the firm Holabird & Roche and built during 1923–25, its twenty-five stories housed 2,268 rooms and for a very short time held the record as the world's largest hotel.
The hotel was favoured by celebrities and the upper class for it's luxurious interior and upscale service. By the 1920's it had to enlarged to accommodate the growing clientele list. At this point, the interior design and decor of the Hotel was heavily influenced by the Art Deco movement. Aesthetically became more streamlined, sleek and geometric. The Palmer House’s grand lobby boasts a remarkable ceiling. The two winged statues in the foreground were created by Louis Comfort Tiffany.

Having undergone a $170 million renovation in 2008, the Palmer House remains one of the world's most luxurious and glamorous Art Deco hotels. It's current decor is a well balanced mix of contemporary Art Deco chic and historical elegance.
