The path that led me to where I am now began my sophomore year of high school. I took a journalism class for the purposes of improving my writing, but we could also create some pieces involving photographs, so that is what I did. A friend in my chorus class, (who was also a fellow photographer), noticed my enthusiasm for taking pictures and nominated me to be the historian for chorus the next year
. For two years, I took the job as seriously as I do any job or task given to me, and I loved every minute of it. My dad (who is also a photographer) lent me his DSLR camera at that point and I was really able to learn different techniques to improve the quality of my photos. I learned a lot about photography from an online course my senior year, but I learned the most about photography from my dad. I've watched him do countless weddings and I have even helped to assist him on a portrait session or two. When I graduated from high school, I knew that I wanted to start my own photography business, and I wanted to find as many opportunities as I could to make that happen. So when I got to Florida College, I joined the yearbook staff as a photographer. I consumed myself in the world of photography, and I never looked back. Of course, my career goals as a photographer took an interesting turn, but I will always have a passion to take others’ photographs and provide the best memories for them.
