Well now, lookie here—look what I found sittin’ on my porch today. A real, true‑blue bluegrass friend if I’ve ever seen one. I reckon it’s about time for me to do a little Jed Clampett jig. Thank you! You are the best friend in the world. Not sure where I'd been the past 7 years without you! Bet it weighs 20lbs. Christmas came early in Sanford.

Some of my fondest memories are the one-on-one moments I spent filming with these incredible families. I’ll always be grateful to the Moore, York, Gorge, Russell, and Morris families for welcoming me into your lives and making me feel like part of your own.

Watching these young folks grow into the amazing individuals they are today has been one of my greatest blessings. My heart is full, and I’ll always cherish the memories we created together. ❤️

Linda traveled many a mile with me, and every one of them was a blessing. She sure loved her some Red Bluff Ramblers — Danny Pate & Danny Morton’s band! Linda was one special soul...she worked hard, danced often, laughed loud, and truly enjoyed life.

In all my travels, I don’t think I ever gave my time to a more lovable soul. She’d spend weeks with me in Shallotte, NC, when my camper was set up there — fishing the hours away, cooking the best food, making sweet memories, and hitting every thrift store in town.

She was the best kind of mom, even to me and loved her family fiercely. Linda was proud of each one of them.

Rest in peace, dear friend!

You’ll always be remembered for your laughter, your love, and the joy you brought everywhere you went!!

Good morning folks!

I’ve always said bluegrass needs a powerhouse group of five tenors — Webb, Paisley, Jenkins, Hensley, and Pope… well, maybe six including Shuler. Some of my favorite voices right there!

And nobody puts on a show quite like Appalachian Road Show — though Marty Stuart might give them a run for their money. Tight bands, pure energy, and heart all the way.

Stepping away from Facebook personally means you sometimes hear news late… and today I learned that Allan Styx Hicks recently passed. He was a good soul who loved bluegrass enough to drive countless miles, film every show he could, and then go home and do all the work that nobody ever sees. If you haven’t already, please subscribe to his channel ... it’s a small way to honor the heart he poured into this music. We used to chat on FB. I even sent him a tripod once without telling him, just because he was so lovable and I could. Wish I had the pleasure of meeting him in person. We have to lift each other up while we’re here. I’m grateful I followed my gut on that. May he enjoy the heavenly bluegrass band. So many of the good’uns are getting gone.

Loved you, Styx. RIP, buddy. Godspeed.
