Once I emailed Charlie about meeting a young fiddle player. His people got back to me in one days time. Charlie held up his end of the bargain offering the whole big family tickets. They ended up not making the date. Russell is a friend of mine. Charlie was a friend of his. This is a good article. Says alot about who Charlie was. If anyone is a fan. Brings back some fond memories. Of a man who didn't get the big head. He was one of the gooderns! Remembered he put his pants on one leg at a time like the rest of us. He gave quite a concert too. One of my top 3 I've ever witnessed.

Before he learned to play fiddle, the South’s most famous fiddler learned to play guitar from Russell Palmer. Charlie Daniels has never forgotten that moment, or the friend who taught him.

One thing is for certain, making shorts is like walking down memory lane. If anyone has been a fortune soul that would be me. Filming sacrificed many things, but I had rather film than eat, and I like to eat. 🙃 Thanks to those leaving me comments under the videos directing me on what they'd like to see made into shorts. With the 20K vault of videos I have plenty of material! Love me some Carolina Blue!

Creating these shorts brings back a flood of memories & emotions. While working, filming I was rarely offered the chance to talk to many folks. Brien is one who I will never forget. I sure wish I saw him more frequently. He left quite an impression on many I am certain...in both the bluegrass world and his car racing days. Always had such a gentile spirit about him. Good clean pickin' too. My favorite...the banjo. 🥰 makes me want to go to Sparta again! I sure been one fortunate wanderer!!
