One of the greatest gifts in this work is watching someone’s life come full circle.

This beautiful Black bride is someone I’ve known for many years. She designed stunning prom gowns, and for seasons we worked side by side—she creating the dresses and me getting the girls ready with hair and makeup.

So when she called and asked if I would come do her hair and makeup for her wedding day, it felt incredibly special.

Mature skin often comes with areas of uneven tone, dryness, and texture, which require a different approach than traditional bridal makeup. Instead of heavy coverage, the focus becomes hydration, thoughtful preparation, and building thin layers that keep the skin luminous and natural.

For her look we refined uneven tone, restored hydration, softly balanced the brows, and refined her hairstyle so the finished look felt elegant, timeless, and camera-ready.

Being part of someone’s life long enough to see their seasons change—and then getting to help them step into a day overflowing with love—is one of the greatest privileges of this work.
