We’re the faces behind Darling Fern…a team of sisters who happen to also be the best of friends. We started this little business 6 years ago, and while we have had slow seasons while life also happens (engagements, weddings, and other happenings of our own), we’ve never slowed down on our passion and commitment to taking a bride and grooms’ dream, helping to make it a reality, and taking the stress away!

Dominique + Alexander | 8/22

Intimate, smaller weddings are on the rise in this COVID world we’re trying to get married in, and Dominique + Alexander’s ✨darling day✨ was the definition of classy, intimate and detail-oriented. With the Gatsby-esque venue and a bride who knows her vision, coordinating this elegant and vintage-inspired wedding day was like stepping back into time!

The Hotel Metro is donned with decor that will have you feeling like you walked onto a movie set in the 1940s. A retro mailbox, intricate details, and glamorous decor set the couple’s backdrop. The dyed, wooden flowers were created by the bride herself and set the tone for her moody, Art Deco vision, and romantic candlelight kept the ceremony feeling dreamy. The small, detailed touches are what truly made this day a memorable one. Alexander’s rather dusted off his old photography skills for the day, and his sister-in-law officiated with personal touches. Dominique and Alexander read their own hand-written vows, and a simple, elegant violinist played the ceremony music.

Guests mingled on the rooftop dining room and bar for cocktails, followed by a deliciously plated dinner. A Facebook livestream kept guests from afar in touch with the party, and two fantastic families mingled in downtown Milwaukee over, truly, what makes this world go round: the love of two people. Guests signed wooden pieces and dropped them into a shadow box frame, left the newlyweds date ideas, and took Polaroid pictures with a photo prop to leave the bride and groom some happy memories.

And guess what the couple didn’t have to fret over? The arrival of their delicious cake from or the talented violinist, or the whether or not the favor boxes and gift bags were organized and set out. Neither of them or their families needed to stress over lighting candles, or getting in order for the ceremony. The tiny details were taken care of by Darling Fern, and as a team, we find no greater joy than watching a new couple dance the night away after they’ve been able to let go of the stressors a wedding day can bring.

Oh it’s September 1st????? Count us in.

The start of (meteorological) fall has us thinking back to this extremely fun styled shoot with at the . How can this be two years ago already?!

We’re still just as in love with these moody details, rich colors and eclectic pieces we got to fit together with the stellar floral arrangements by and other wonderful WI vendors.

We’re itching for another collaboration with more wedding wizards in the area — who wants to do a styled shoot next?! (DM us‼️💕)
