Chick culling.
Standard practice for all egg production, because when unfertilized eggs are your business, you don't want millions of roosters.

These are male chicks -- about 1 day old.
While these babies are being tossed alive into a grinder - deemed 'appropriate' disposal - other chicks are just left to suffocate or starve in garbage bins and dumpsters.

200-300 MILLION male chicks are culled every year, in the U.S. alone.
