'Kuumba' in Swahili means 'creativity', and the principle of this creativity encourages us to do as much as we can, in the best way we possibly can, so we may leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.


Hello dear friends:

It is the season of giving and this year, as a part of Kumba Events’ holiday campaign, we are supporting a local facility that houses abused & neglected children of all ages.

The families & children at this facility have experienced trauma, sexual abuse, physical abuse, are born with drug addictions & their stories have touched us deeply. Most of these children are living with mental health issues due to their life circumstances & do not know of the love and support many of us experience in our daily lives. In the recent months, many people from our community have distributed food to these children (as they eat county supplied food daily) & brought smiles to their faces.
As a part of this effort, we are reaching out to all of you for your support. Being the holiday season, we aim to gather up as many holiday surprises as we possibly can, to make a small difference in these children’s lives.

We are collecting $25 gift cards for these families. We will be purchasing shoes, make up kits & other exciting items for youth as well. If you’d rather contribute money or the gift items, we will happily accept.

Once we have collected all items, we are going to schedule a day (Dec 18th week) to pass these out to the children. We will share the date & time with all of you, so whoever would like to join, is welcome! If you would like more information about the facility, let us know & we will send it over.
