My favorite hidden spot.

it’s quiet and a great spot to splash around. The water will always be my number one favorite location suggestion to all my families and couples.

Just a few of my favorites I get to see each year. A tiny secret — not every moment from this shoot was filled with smiles. All toddlers have a mental break down at least once in a shoot.

We have nap times and dinner grumbles to contend with. There’s just no perfect time for more than one kid when it comes to scheduling photos. And that’s ok! We roll with it. We take turns based on who needs a moment haha

These are really the oddest animals in the kingdom. Seeing them up close was truly insanity. Proportionally, they make no sense.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But I genuinely am so grateful to live in a world where these gentle(ish) giants exist. I hope to continue to follow as many sustainable practices within my business as I can and to invest in greener products. I’ve made small switches, like:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ditching Film Photography — so bad for the environment
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rechargeable batteries for everything — from camera, to flash, to everything else. No more single-use products
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Reducing my waste and avoiding Amazon or online products
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But I can always improve, always do more! Please let me know if you have any other green practices in your business!!

I’m going to be creating a little shop of all my wildlife photographs. I’d like to also donate a percentage of the proceeds to an animal-related charity.

I am a light and airy photographer. But it is SO important to be respectful of all skin tones.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A lot of photographers get intimidated by darker skin tones because they don’t shoot White Balance correctly in camera. Shadows pick up Magentas and Greens naturally. More so than lighter tones.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, if you aren’t 1. shooting in kelvin, but then 2. taking advantage of your camera’s ability to control magenta and greens, then you are creating so much more work in lightroom.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The reason we don’t shoot auto is when we get to editing, there’s no consistency. It is wildly inaccurate.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s our job as photographers to learn the differences every body, skin, or person presents when their in front our our lens.

We started their session slightly nervous, but by sunset, they were lost in their own world—exactly where the magic happens in your images. Beach sessions are about embracing the elements rather than fighting them.

Those are the frames that tell your authentic story. Who else is dreaming of a shoreline engagement session this summer?

These are the sweetest tears. And I sort of caused them lol.

One of my directing prompts for new parents is to ask their partner to share what makes them a great parent. I think it's a beautiful moment and it's completely real.

I am such a fan of a white cake with ruffles and texture. There’s nothing quite like the classics upscaled.

The Minneapolis Club has long been a favorite of mine and each time I’m invited back is almost as sweet as this cake.
