Several bloggers made the claim recently that the best ramen in Mass was at Tora Ramen in Chinatown. So Paponake Meeyam Macintosh and I had to go check it out.
It is a small restaurant that gives off Ramen vibes soon as you enter. The menus are all digital only which I am not a fan of but it is what it is.
The star of the meal was the Oyakodon - tender chicken and egg cooked with a flavorful umami packed dashi stock served over rice.
The spicy miso was rather bland, watery and the noodles were very undercooked. The Ajitama eggs were perfect, Pepsi had his with seared pork belly chashu abd i tried the sous vide pork. Both didnt have much flavor. I would definitely go back again for the Oyakodon
I did notice on Tyler street another Japanese restaurant called Tora serving Kaisen sushi bowls. I wonder if they are affiliated.
