Howdy friends. I’ve been getting to know clay a bit this past year. This weekend, I will be debuting my hand built pots annual plant and pottery sale. For my local friends, feel free to swing by the Jefferson County Fairgrounds and check out the awesome selection of cactus, succulents, pottery and the specimen exhibit.

I thought it was a good time for an introduction.

I’m Debbie, owner of Paper Heart Productions and I have always had a passion for plants and flowers. My ah-ha moment came one day while at my corporate day job – I needed to be a florist! That moment instantly took me back to when I was a youngster and did volunteer work at the local hospital. The absolute best part of that work was delivering flowers to a patients’ room and seeing how the magic of flowers put a smile someone’s face when they needed it the most. Flowers make people happy.

Fast forward to today, I germinate and grow over 40 different types of specialty cut flowers. When I’m in the gardens, I’m in a place where I completely belong. A place to witness the wonders of nature and a time for introspection.

I previously worked in the music industry as both a production assistant for the Beach Boys, and a stagehand in the late 80’s for some of the most popular musical acts at that time. Think of your favorite 80’s band, and chances are I was part of a team that made a night of kick ass music possible. Physically, it was extremely hard work but equally rewarding. Bands are a perfect example of absolute teamwork. Each musician has a specific role to play and it’s the coming together of each musician that produces an amazing final product that touches people’s heart and soul.

As a florist, I exercise this same concept. I’m part of a team working towards a common goal of making a most memorable event for you and your family. I create floral works from the heart that enhance a space, elevate an event, and most certainly to evoke a range of emotions.

I’m so grateful for my customers and the trust they have in my work.
