From the moment you drive on the property, you’ll find “country landscaping”. Peach trees, grape vines, & our “little piggy pen” line the front drive. Enjoy a stroll around the property and you’ll find antique “garden beds” filled with vegetables, The Model-T surrounded by flowers, rustic tractors and farm implements, and eclectic décor. Cast a line in the spring fed lake, exchange vows or host an event in our 1927 Chapel or just sit a spell in the rocker on the front porch and enjoy nature’s beauty. You'll feel like you have stepped back in time in one of our Bed & Breakfast Rooms at the 1891 Dogtrot House. I’ve officially submitted my strong opposition to the proposed drilling of 21 groundwater wells in Anderson County that would extract over 10 billion gallons of water each year—a direct threat to our local aquifers and way of life in East Texas.

Anderson County cannot afford to have its water supply drained for the benefit of other regions. As Chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources and a local resident, I will fight to protect our community’s access to this vital resource.
