Are you “Tough Enough To Wear Pink”? Its rodeo time again in Bartow County. This year’s event promises to be the best ever. The excitement begins on Friday, July 12 and ends on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Bartow County Saddle Club Arena off of Burnt Hickory Road. The rodeo starts each night at 8:00 p.m. But, plan to arrive early!! Gates open at 6pm. The theme for the 2024 Rodeo is “Tough Enough

to Wear Pink.” All fans are asked to join the rodeo contestants, as they wear pink to the rodeo in an effort to raise awareness about breast cancer. The goal is to “Pink-Out” the rodeo area. Bridgett Phillips, of Phillips Rodeo Productions, has successfully fought a battle with the disease undergoing surgery and treatment requiring a near year-long stay in her native state of Oklahoma. Rodeo events planned are bareback riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, team roping and bull riding. Some of the other events that will be held each night are the kid’s calf scramble and the wild cow milking contest. Both of these events prove to be very poplar with the crowd each year. The rodeo provides good wholesome entertainment, something that has become to rare in this day in age. The rodeo begins each night with the Star Spangles Banner and a patriotic grand entry that will make you proud to be an American. You will sit and visit with your friends and neighbors and ooh and awe over the skill of the rodeo athletes and the tenacity of the bulls. Eight seconds may fly by when you are sitting at your desk at work or on the assembly line, but then you see the cowboy sink, spur, hold your breath, because time will stand still. This year’s event will also help bring a boost economically by bringing in people from all over the country who will buy gas, stop and eat, or shop at our local stores. So if you happen to see some people in cowboy hats, buckles and boots, help them and be nice to them. After all rodeo people are just like us, they are really good people. The rodeo admission is paid at the gate or online. $20 for general admission; $10 for children 5-9; children 4 and under are free. Parking is free. If you have questions, go to our website www.PhillipsRodeo.com or please feel free to call 706-218-0382 for more information on the rodeo.
