EVERY wedding inspires 🦋🦋. They're not exactly the anxious kind... More about anticipation and excitement for the couples that I'm taking care of.

Today's wedding will be the debut of the new rig. It adds a little more pressure when it comes to my personal goals and aspirations for the business, but THE focus is on taking care of Mimmie, Ryan and Their Community.

The day I DON'T feel 🦋🦋 before an event is the day that I find something else to do professionally... Because it means that I need to find a new Soul Food source.

Today's Event:

I'm HYPED about taking care of Mimmie & Ryan today. If you know me, then you know that I'm underselling it. Still... I've been looking forward to this one for quite some time.

Mimmie had this to say after I responded to her inquiry:
"I would love to get a meeting scheduled to know more about your style, but just based on your email, I’m sold 😊. But gotta do my one due diligence as I’m sure you can understand."

I can't stress enough how important it is to CLICK with My People. Despite the pressure to give them and their communities the best experience I possibly can, there's an added confidence that goes with that bond.

Speaking of pressure - today's outing is going to be the first one where I'm completely going with the new look. The tests at the home base have been good - it's getting that first one in the field that amps up the pressure.

As I tell EVERYONE that reaches out to me to inquire about my services, it's time to BREATHE.

Then it's time to Get. To. Work.

On my personal FB page, I occasionally post the prompt "Tell Me Something Good."

When I'm struggling to remember my motivation, reading those comments - the wins of My People - can help brighten things up a bit.

I'm not one that tries to impress people by being flashy. My goal and my FUEL is Connection. Soul Food - which is what I describe this job as being - is driven by Connection: Connection with My Couples; Connection with Their Communities; even Connection with the other Wedding Industry Professionals that I'm working alongside.

Emails like this one from the most recent couple to choose to work with me are ALWAYS going to be "Something Good."

When you start this way before doing ANY planning, expectations are HIGH - through Connection and Communication, we can only go UP.

Last week, I referenced the fact that I've known the founder of Little Mac Design for several years now. She mentioned that it's been around nine years since we worked our first wedding together.

Since then, I've hired her to do a shoot of my kids for a gift for my wife. We've been able to work at least two more weddings alongside each other during that time.

When I realized that I needed to essentially start from scratch with brand photos thanks to some changes behind the scenes, she was the first person that I thought of to call.

I'm a BIG fan of her work and I don't even try to hide it. To say that I'm pleased with the end result from last week's brand shoot is a SEVERE understatement.

If you're looking for someone for brand photos, a wedding, mini-sessions (grads, family, etc.), give Nicole and Little Mac Design a closer look.

I'm definitely in my "infancy" as an officiant. Luckily, when it comes to creating the script for the ceremony, has online resources that I'm able to use for that purpose.

My favorite part of the process...? Seeing and hearing the emotions that the couple I'm working feel upon HEARING the results of that rough draft.

Seriously, I get goosebumps EVERY time! 🥰

There WILL be tweaks made to personalize it for them, specifically. For now... I'm even more excited about taking care of them & their community on Their Big Day.
