That’s right, when you book an event with us, you’re directly supporting the mission of The Irish Center of Kansas City, an organization that works to celebrate, honor, & preserve Irish culture in Kansas City, as well as fostering a vibrant & welcoming community that is open to all. Through robust programming including concerts, Irish language classes, whiskey tastings, dance classes, theatrical performances, hosting travelling diplomats, movie nights, & so, so much more all right here in Drexel Hall, the Irish Center has become a staple in Kansas City & it is all thanks to your support! Happy Leap Day everybody! Do you know about the Irish tradition of a Leap Day proposal? Historically on this day, women were allowed to propose to men. In some areas, there was even a fine associated with a man’s refusal! Legend has it, this unique tradition began when St. Brigid complained to St. Patrick that men take too long to propose. To remedy that, he gave women the ability to take matters into their own hands once every four years! Ladies, if you’ve got a man in your life taking far too long, today’s the day to take the leap!
