SEED SAVING 🌱

every petal on these zinnia heads represents a chance of new life, new growth, and more beauty. Since we’ve moved, I’ve had minimal time to play with flowers. To say I miss them is an understatement. We have a tiny patch of cut flowers that our nieces and nephews planted on Mother’s Day. These are the flower heads from that tiny crop and now, in a few weeks I will have a new wave of fall zinnias!

Coveralls, corn, cover crops, cozy corners, and complete exterior facelifts. A guide to HFF’s 2025 summertime.

Farm life may be slow but we are taking advantage of this time to make this our forever place. We can’t wait to share it with you SOON!

Happy 4th of July Weekend! Thankful for all the men and women who keep us safe and fight for our freedom.

We celebrated with some boiled crabs surrounded by family! Oh, and we checked on the okra and corn my in-laws planted. They’re germinating!!! 🌱

We’ve been a bit quiet lately but 2025 has been quite the eventful year…

After five years at our micro-flower farm in Lockport we are growing! During these last few months we’ve been facilitating the sale of our house and the purchase of TerriLynn’s Grandparents’ home that sits on 25 acres of land in Raceland. This is a place full of memory, love, and legacy for TerriLynn and her family, and now it will be the new home of Haven Flower Farm.

We look forward to alchemizing five years of mistakes and acquired knowledge into a fruitful future by growing Haven Flower Farm into a full-scale, no-till flower and food farm—rooted in organic, earth-honoring practices, and built to nourish both land and community.

Since Haven has evolved a bit we felt like she needed an upgrade to honor where we’ve been and where we’re headed. We felt called to honor Mr. Breaux in this rebrand so we incorporated his much loved monitor style barn, that was built with his bare hands, into the design. Oh, and we couldn’t leave out the flower that started it all, the anemone! Major kudos to for capturing our vision so perfectly.

The hard launch of our new farm is coming in Spring 2026, but going forward, we’re giving you this soft and sacred little peek into what’s been happening in our lives. For the next several months you can follow us as we prepare this place for its new beginning; you will find us cleaning, remodeling, painting, cover-cropping, and everything else that comes along with preparing for our first season.

In the meantime, a heartfelt THANK YOU for walking this journey with us over the last five years. Thank you for always showing up for locally grown, for believing in us for the past five years, and for helping us build something beautiful from the soil up. 🌸🌱 We can’t wait to watch you walk through our fields very soon.

Here’s to realignment, new growth, and so much cultivation! 🥂

With so much love,
Reesa & TerriLynn

Spring has sprung in sweet Lockport, LA.
Anyone else reveling in this delightful weather?

Life is springing right alongside the flowers.
So much movement. So much change. So much excitement.
2025 has been a wild ride already. This new year is filled with so much happiness already.

Life feels like one really big, continuous INHALE lately.

One of my friends perfectly explained what the build up of something new feels like: one giant inhale before we can exhale into action. I’ve been trying to find peace in the inhale because if you know me I’m an exhale kinda girl. Patience is usually something that I only have with my garden. Practicing patience, making SURRENDER my mantra, and continuing to inhale is exactly where we are supposed to be before we launch forward.

Lately leaning into the next chapter feels terrifyingly exciting. It makes me feel more alive than ever. It also forces me to question the narrative that we’ve moved towards these past few years while growing flowers. Every one of these moments is precious. I’m listening, learning, and redirecting.

In the meantime our flowers are starting to bloom. They are my reminder that with every winter comes a fully bloomed spring.

Winter is almost over.

Who’s ready for the snow? WE ARE!!!

Up to 8” of snow is predicted for little ole southern Lafourche Parish! We can’t believe it. You can expect us to be playing in the snow, for sure. In the meantime we’ve prepped our landscape and garden space with heavy mulch and frost cover.

I do miss seeing flowers in the garden, though. We can’t wait to see you all in Spring! In the meantime, stay safe, warm, and don’t forget about your animals outdoors!!! They’ll need some extra warmth this week.

There isn’t a more beautiful color combination in a flower that I’ve grown.

These are blooming from our late fall planting due to Hurricane Francine. She damaged lots of our early planted fall crops so we just started more seeds in hopes to get flowers sooner than planned. Most of them took but cosmos are late bloomers. Grateful to see them during the winter season even though they don’t quite go with our classic Christmas aesthetic!

These beauties have me so excited for spring flowers!

My gosh, what a year it has been. I love taking time to look back on the year through my camera roll. There are so many hidden gems that make up another incredible year in flowers.

I am eternally grateful to every person that we’ve met this year, for every workshop, for every single stem that was grown, to every subscriber and to every one of our friends and family who always show up to lovingly support our dreams. This entire flower thing really sets my soul on fire.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! 🫶🏼
