Calling all Wonderland lovers, curious souls, and tea party dreamers—you're officially invited to fall down the rabbit hole with me this August! 🐇💫

As part of the enchanting Through the Looking Glass event hosted by The Wildflower, I’ll be offering Mad Hatter Mini Sessions—a whimsical, storybook setup nestled under a tree.

Includes:
⏱️ 15-minute styled session
🫖 A whimsical tea party setup with vintage china, faux treats, stacked teacups, and frames floating above in the tree.
📷 10 images
🎟 Admission to the event!!
💸 A $10 voucher to spend with any vendor (my treat!)

Hello, I’m Melissa!
I’ve always loved a great photograph. My photography journey began with nature — I’m an outdoorsy soul who found joy in framing the world around me. After 13 years of learning my camera, mastering composition, and understanding natural lighting, I turned what was once a hobby into my career.

These days, I focus on capturing your unique journey — wherever it may lead.

Becoming a mom in 2021 shifted my perspective even more. Motherhood has been the most rewarding (and educational!) chapter yet. It’s taught me how to connect with little ones in new ways and deeply appreciate the effort it takes just to get everyone dressed and out the door for a photo session — trust me, I get it.

I am NOW BOOKING for my 4th of July Minis - Stars, Stripes, & Simplicity!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been craving those slow, simple summer days—the kind where you're wandering around the yard barefoot, enjoying cold treats with the hum of cicadas in the background and the smell of fresh-cut grass filling the air. And if you're lucky, you're soaking it all in from the comfort of your own porch swing. I'm not so lucky in the porch swing department, but that's the feeling I want to capture in these sessions.

If you loved the vibes of my Lavender and Lace Minis from Mother’s Day, this session will feel just as cozy and timeless—only this time with a little red, white, and blue spirit! ❤️🤍💙 With a similar backdrop of lace curtains on a clothesline, I'll be adding patriotic accents using ribbons and fabrics. The rest of the setup will be full of vintage charm and farmhouse details, bringing in those nostalgic, simple summer feels I love so much.

I'm going full American Summer vibes, so be ready to kick those sandals off because I *will* be encouraging you to go barefoot!👣 I'll also be adding classic props like bottles of Coke, popsicles, and watermelon slices🍉 - all ready to enjoy!

Them: Surely you can't get more than 1 great photo from one pose.

Me: Hold the pose...

HAHA for reference, nobody has actually told me this. 😂 But when I was editing, I was like how do I have so many good ones from this one pose? And it was because I just told her to hold it, occasionally asking her to look at me, look away, etc. & then just basically circled around her getting all the angles. This is truly a moment.

While I’m busy getting everything set up for my 4th of July Minis, I just had to pause and share a favorite from a recent Senior Session.

As both a photographer and nature lover, I’ve built up a little “bucket list” of dreamy locations I hope to shoot at someday. One spot in particular has been on my list for years—it’s only open for a short window each year, and I’ve been waiting for the right moment. Last month, I finally got the chance… and wow, it didn't disappoint! I have many more to share, but this particular image was taken on the tree swing Azalea Path has. It's gorgeous!

So, if you ever had a thought of, "Will she travel?", the answer is yes!!!!!!

Nestled in a throne of wood, lace, and greenery - it's as if this chair was waiting for her. 🌿

As a photographer, you can setup a scene, and you can think you picked the perfect angles. But sometimes, a moment like this happens, where the subject just falls perfectly in place, as if that spot was made just for them.
