In 2020, I said yes to stepping into the role of President of the Central Oregon Wedding Association, and looking back now, my heart is so full.

Over the past five years, I have had the honor of leading alongside several incredible boards, all rooted in one shared mission: to continue growing a community where vendors feel safe, supported, and seen. A place where you can network, become educated, and find true friendships. Because the truth is, being an entrepreneur in the wedding industry can be incredibly lonely, and no one should have to walk that path alone.

Bend is truly a special place. The vendors here are unlike anywhere else in the country. We care deeply about one another. We celebrate each other’s wins. We show up when it matters most. We are always in each other’s corner, lifting one another higher. That kind of community is rare, and it is something I will forever be proud to be part of.

As I pass the baton, I do so with so much excitement and confidence. This incoming board is incredibly talented, deeply passionate, and aligned with the same heart and vision for COWA. I am beyond proud of what we have all accomplished together, and I cannot wait to watch this association grow into an even more beautiful next chapter under their leadership.

So here I am, signing off with nothing but love and gratitude. Thank you for trusting me to lead for so many years. I love you all so much, and I will always be cheering you on. 🤍

The very best part of what we do is getting to know you—the real stuff that makes you excited, frustrated or even a little anxious. I thrive on being one step ahead, making sure my couples feel completely taken care of. And to do that, it takes real curiosity and authentic conversations. Getting to know you, understanding what you need, and building that trust is what makes everything else fall into place. It’s those moments of genuine connection that make this job so rewarding.

As an event designer with 15 years in the industry, I can honestly say that ceiling installations are some of my favorite challenges. There’s something truly magical about transforming a space from the top down, creating visual masterpieces that captivate guests from the moment they walk in. We’re not just hanging decorations; we’re bringing big ideas to life, orchestrating intricate details, and using production techniques that turn the impossible into something breathtaking.

One of the best parts of this work is the logistics behind it all. It’s not just about the design—though that’s definitely a huge part of it—it’s about making sure that every piece comes together smoothly, from the technical ex*****on to the team working seamlessly to get everything in place. Every step has to be precise, every move carefully planned, to ensure that the final visual outcome is flawless.

I wouldn’t be able to make these ideas come to life without the incredible vendors who work tirelessly by my side. They’re the unsung heroes—whether it’s the production teams, lighting designers, riggers, or florists—each one plays a vital role in turning a vision into reality. Their expertise and dedication are what make these ambitious projects achievable, and I’m endlessly grateful for their hard work and partnership.

These installations aren’t just about creating something beautiful—they’re about making a statement and leaving a lasting impression. That’s the kind of magic we aim to create in every event we design. It’s been an incredible journey, and I can’t wait to see what other creative challenges the future holds!

There’s something incredibly special about watching a fairytale come to life, from the first consultation to the final dance at the reception.

We get to play a part in turning a couple’s vision into reality, crafting an event that is uniquely theirs and filled with moments of pure happiness. The best part? Seeing the joy on their faces as everything falls into place. Every little detail, from the flowers to the lighting to the perfectly timed toast, comes together to create something unforgettable. It’s this magic, the culmination of hard work, passion, and love, that makes being a wedding planner so rewarding.

At the end of the day, this is why we do what we do—to make dreams come true. At the start of the year, when I learned I was going to bring a new life into the world, my perspective began to shift. Every day, I gained new insights into what truly mattered—both for AC&CO and for my growing family. I remember looking at the books and seeing that we were on track for our biggest year yet: 51 weddings, four talented planners, an exceptional designer, and our dedicated assistants, I felt confident we were poised for success.

Then, as the year went on, Sav and Nicole Amanda shared the news that they were expecting as well! The biz took yet another turn and it became clear that a new pivot was necessary. Alana and Lexy rose to the challenge, stepping up to become the backbone for the team. Their strength and dedication, showing up every day with unwavering commitment, was nothing short of inspiring.

After four years of being deeply involved in every detail, I stepped away, turned off, and allowed my team to take the reins. And they did—achieving great success, surpassing even my own expectations. It was a pivotal moment, not just in my career, but in my personal journey as well.

I’m so proud and I couldn’t feel luckier to have the most incredible band of women at my side while we navigate new waters as mama’s and as professional women.
