Let’s chat real quick about something a little serious which isn’t normal for us here ✨
PLEASE stop ghosting businesses in the event industry after you’ve received a quote. 👀👏🏼
We get it. Sometimes you:
a) Think the price is higher than it needs to be or
b) Decide to go with someone else.
That’s okay! Not every business is the right fit for every client. But here’s the thing: ghosting hurts. Behind every estimate is time, effort, and a lot of thought poured into mapping out how we’d bring your vision to life.
When I request quotes from other businesses and the price doesn’t work for me, I always reply with something simple and kind like:
1. “Thank you so much for sending this over! It’s out of my budget right now, but I really appreciate your time.”
2. “I’ve decided to go in a different direction, but I truly value your effort and professionalism.”
3. “This isn’t the best fit for me at the moment, but I’ll keep you in mind for future events.”
That’s it. Short, respectful, and honest. 👏
So please, stop leaving businesses hanging especially when we follow up to check in. A simple reply goes a long way in keeping relationships positive, even if we don’t end up working together. 💙
Because here’s the truth: ghosting leaves a sour taste, and it makes us wonder if we’d ever want to work together in the future.
Let’s all build each other up with a little kindness and communication. 💛
