Tracoyia and Priscilla planned a beautiful ceremony at the Boston Public Library. They and their families reserved rooms at the Boston Harbor Encore. And they asked me to create a unique ceremony for them. Check, check and check.

Then, in waltzed cruel Mother Nature and wiped out all their plans… except their love, their families… and me. With the help of BPL, we prepared to delay things by a day. But since no-one anticipated the amount of snow that actually fell, that was wiped out too.

So… before the family had to fly back home, the Boston Harbor Encore gifted them a penthouse suite for an hour and we had a zoom ceremony. A day or two later the Attleboro Public Library agreed to host a very small ceremony in the Balfour Room, so we could make it legal.

During our legal ceremony, in order to remind ourselves to stay grounded and in honor of Julie & Hillary Goodridge, the Massachusetts pioneers for gay marriage, we removed our shoes.

Through all of this, not one voice was raised, not one sad tear was shed. Disappointment? Sure. But the grace with which these two of held themselves was nothing short of inspiring.

After all was said and done they told me what made them feel like everything would be ok, was that I never said “no” to them. In the end, both ceremonies were meaningful and poignant.

This reading gives me goosebumps, EVERY TIME. Such raw truth in writing.
Madison & Kali just wanted to be married. We all arrived at the Lyman Estate in Waltham and were greeted by their efficient and friendly coordinator, Nicole. Such a gorgeous and historic building (set of the 2019 little women remake). These two brides crafted their dual purpose ring box and vow books. I wanted to be amazed at their ingenuity, but then they told me that they were both theatre people and it all made sense. Their vows were perfection - as were those outfits. Such a touching day.

An intimate elopement with the closest of family and friends in the historic Alderman Chamber at Providence City Hall. Brijitte & Ayo are a lovely couple with a lifetime of happiness ahead of them.

Tamryn and Dani’s son, Cooper was so proud and happy to be part of their wedding. He even had a reading that he wrote and delivered himself. Everything about this intimate backyard ceremony was unique and very special.

Everything about this small elopement made me happy. Partly because I had officiated her sister‘s wedding two years ago, and it was lovely to see them again. Part of it was their infant son, Matheo, who was beyond adorable. But I think the biggest part was the spontaneous , leg popping kiss at the end!

We were giving their guests a photo opportunity before we asked them to put their phones away for the ceremony, but this couple also wanted to take a selfie. There was a beautiful pool in the middle of the ceremony site so we took 2 selfies so we could get all their guests in the background!
