Go ahead, mark something as "not for kids," "age restricted," or "private," and count the seconds until you're "investigated" and suspended by "technology" that has found you to be in breach of Community Standards. Enjoy your online exposure! You're being watched ... ALWAYS.

I posted this as a comment to a post on book burning, but in retrospect, I think you all should be reading it and giving it some serious thought.

The problem today is not book burning per se, since most people today don't open a single book most of their lives, once they've left school. The big problem today is right here: social media and addictive electronic devices. Studies show that social media is an addiction and a public health catastrophe. Worse still, it's dehumanizing, degrading, controlling, and all for political or economic gain. It used to be, that is, when we actually read philosophy and still had values and dignity, that human beings were never a means to an end but that has changed apocalyptically in the past 2-3 decades, and it's getting even worse with the ascendency of AI. Human beings are out of control in all senses of the phrase. If the problem were limited only to books, we could fight back and save books but when the enemy is everywhere and invisible, we are helpless. Are you enjoying the ride to hell?

Wasn't the annoyance of arbitrary and idiotic Community Standards enforcement by "technology," already too much? Now, "technology" is telling us that posts that "look like spam" are blocked? What in hell does SPAM look like?

This "technology" and AI BS is going way too far now. Social media and Corporations are cutting out the human element entirely, and we are fast becoming not only irrelevant and powerless, we aren't even being heard by ANYONE!

How far are you going to let this go before you finally wake up and smell the rotting corpses that were once "valued" customers and subscribers?
